What unit is the Cultural Bureau?
The Cultural Bureau is an integral part of the government. According to official website's inquiry, the Cultural Bureau is a functional department of the people's government and a part of the government. It is responsible for managing local cultural and artistic undertakings, including social and cultural undertakings, library undertakings, cultural markets, cultural relics undertakings, film distribution and screening, and foreign cultural and artistic exchanges. The Cultural Bureau is in charge of the national cultural undertakings, and its main responsibilities are to implement the guidelines, policies and regulations of the Party and the state on cultural work, study and formulate development plans, policies, rules and management methods for local cultural undertakings, and comprehensively manage local social and cultural undertakings: cultural and artistic undertakings, library undertakings, centralized management of cultural markets, cultural relics undertakings, film distribution and screening, and cultural and artistic exchanges with foreign countries.
