The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was the first war to defend the country after the founding of New China. Countless volunteers crossed the Yalu River and went to the Korean battlefield without hesitation, defeating the arrogant "United Nations Army" with their flesh and blood and iron will.

Zhu Yanfu, the hero of this story, was an ordinary soldier who took part in this war that year. He secretly left his hometown at the age of 14, joined the ranks of the People's Liberation Army, and participated in hundreds of battles, including the Huaihai Campaign and the Battle of Crossing the River, and made many meritorious deeds.

/kloc-at the age of 0/7, Zhu Yanfu went to North Korea with the army. In a subsequent battle, several enemy grenades suddenly exploded beside him. Zhu Yanfu lost his left eye instantly, and his head, chest and abdomen were seriously injured, and the whole person fell into a coma.

After a while, Zhu Yanfu miraculously woke up, but at this time he was unable to stand, all his comrades around him had died, and there was no one around him, only the bodies of both sides and the bleak cold wind, as if life had come to an end.

But Zhu Yanfu did not give up hope of life. He struggled to climb in one direction and was finally rescued by two volunteer soldiers and sent to the hospital. With the full rescue of the doctor, Zhu Yanfu was out of danger. However, due to the injury, he lost his legs and hands forever. ...

What kind of fierce fighting scene did Zhu Yanfu experience at that time? In the face of many disabilities on my body, how has my mentality changed? What did he do after returning to China? What was his later life like?

About Zhu Yanfu's legendary life, we should start from when he joined the army.

Zhu Yanfu, 1933 was born in July in a poor peasant family in Zhangjiaquan Village, Yiyuan County, Zibo, Shandong Province. He did not go to school. My father died of illness in his early years and lived alone with his mother. His life is very difficult.

Many areas in Yiyuan County became the base areas of the Eighth Route Army as early as the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period. 1March 26th, 944, Yiyuan County was liberated. Soon after, under the leadership of our party, the people here got the land, and everyone was very enthusiastic about the revolution.

After his father died, Zhu Yanfu became the pillar of the family. When other children were playing, he began to help his mother with housework, which made him more mature than his peers.

/kloc-at the age of 0/4, Zhu Yanfu saw that all the young people in the village joined the People's Liberation Army, and he also had the idea of joining the army. But his mother thought he was too young, worried about his safety, and prepared to let him go when he grew up.

Therefore, Zhu Yanfu secretly left his hometown without telling his mother and joined the ranks of the People's Liberation Army. Shortly after joining the army, he took part in the famous Battle of Meng Lianggu, and his comrades-in-arms were very appreciative of this little comrade.

Since then, Zhu Yanfu has participated in hundreds of battles such as Huaihai Campaign and Crossing the River Campaign with the troops. During the period, he made meritorious service three times and was injured in many places. Although he is young, he has exercised his tenacious fighting will like other soldiers.

1949, 16 years old, Zhu Yanfu passed the test of the party and formally joined the China * * * production party, becoming one of the youngest party member in his company. With the rapid rout of the Kuomintang army, he felt that he could go home to take care of his mother at once, but he would soon go to a new battlefield.

Shortly after the Korean War broke out, the "United Nations Army" led by the United States blatantly violated international norms, took the initiative to interfere in North Korea's internal affairs and sent troops to North Korea, and the war soon burned to the Yalu River.

In order to defend the country, Chairman Mao made a decision to resist US aggression and aid Korea. Under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Peng, Chinese people's Volunteer Army resolutely went to the Korean battlefield and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out in an all-round way.

In the first battle, Peng unexpectedly won the "United Nations Army" and temporarily stabilized the situation. However, MacArthur, then commander-in-chief of the "United Nations Army", was arrogant and thought that our army was only symbolically supporting North Korea, and the main force certainly did not come, so he commanded the "United Nations Army" to continue northward.

Seeing that the enemy was menacing, Peng decided to crack down on their arrogance and immediately launched the second campaign to resist US aggression and aid Korea. After our army completed the encirclement of the advancing enemy, the battle began immediately. The eastern front of the battlefield is the famous battle of Changjin Lake.

Before the start of the second campaign, the 26th Army of the 9th Corps, where Zhu Yanfu was located, had left for the Korean battlefield on 1950 1 1. After the battle of Changjin Lake began, the 26th Army was in charge of maneuvering as a reserve, but it soon went into battle.

Because the winter in Changjin Lake is too cold this year, the temperature even reaches MINUS 40 degrees at night, which is rare for decades. Because the troops did not prepare enough winter clothes before entering the DPRK, many volunteer soldiers who were responsible for lurking in the position were frozen before the war, and the non-combat attrition was very serious.

After the battle began, the powerful firepower of the US military also refreshed the soldiers' cognition. Although our army occupied favorable terrain, although the number of our army was much larger than that of the opposite side, and although the enemy was surrounded by our army, the battle was not as smooth as expected, and the troops suffered heavy casualties.

At that time, Zhu Yanfu's company was responsible for fighting for the 205 highland of Changjin Lake, so the occupation could be condescending and seal the enemy's retreat, but at this time their opponents were two battalions of American troops.

Zhu Yanfu's company took advantage of the night to occupy the 205 highland, but after dawn, hundreds of US artillery shells poured on the position, and the top of the mountain was even cut off by dozens of centimeters. Grab a handful of soil and you can touch the shrapnel. At the foot of the mountain, there are well-equipped American troops constantly attacking the highlands, and the fighting is extremely fierce.

A few days later, the two sides even had hand-to-hand combat. After repeated struggles, the position is still in the hands of our army. However, at this time, Zhu Yanfu was the only one left in the position, and other soldiers had sacrificed.

But the enemy won't give him a break. Soon, another group of American troops rushed to the position. In the face of the enemy's crazy attack, Zhu Yanfu, who is only 17 years old, is not afraid. He quickly filled three machine guns with bullets, then put them in different positions, constantly changing positions to shoot, and destroyed many enemies.

However, after all, we are outnumbered. When we loaded a machine gun, several grenades of the American army landed beside Zhu Yanfu. He quickly picked up one and threw it at the enemy, but when he picked up the second one, several grenades around him exploded, and Zhu Yanfu was instantly blown into a coma.

I don't know how long it took, but Zhu Yanfu woke up and there was silence all around. I saw the thick snowflake on his body, his left eye was blown off directly, and his intestines flowed all over the floor.

He was ready to touch the gun and continue fighting, only to find that his fingers had been frozen off and his vision was blurred. Hungry and cold, Zhu Yanfu swallowed the foreign body around him, and later learned that it was the left eyeball directly blown out by grenades.

At this time, Zhu Yanfu was seriously injured all over, and with the oppression of the cold, he was unable to stand, but he still did not give up the hope of survival. He gritted his teeth, stuffed his intestines back into his stomach, wrapped himself in clothes, struggled to climb to the top of the position with severe pain, but soon fell into a coma because of excessive blood loss.

When Zhu Yanfu woke up, he found himself lying in a hospital bed surrounded by injured volunteers. He was very surprised.

It turned out that when he was in a coma, two passing volunteers rescued him and took him back to the rear hospital. Because of the serious injury, the army specially sent someone to send him back to China for surgery.

In the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun Military Medical University, doctors performed 47 operations on Zhu Yanfu, and he was in a coma for 93 days. Fortunately, Zhu Yanfu miraculously survived, but his legs and hands had to be amputated because of frostbite.

After Zhu Yanfu realized his physical condition, the original surprise was instantly replaced by complete disappointment. Without hands and feet, he can't go to war again. At this time, there is only one thought in his heart: suicide.

Lying in the hospital bed, Zhu Yanfu was full of suicidal thoughts, because he didn't want to cause trouble to the country, and he didn't want to live with a broken body.

At first, Zhu Yanfu wanted to end his life by hunger strike, but the nursing staff had already received instructions from the superior leaders: to ensure the safety of Zhu Yanfu, a heroic volunteer soldier. So every time he eats, the nurses always force him to feed.

Then Zhu Yanfu had the idea of jumping off a building. He sneaked into the corridor outside the house while the nurses were not paying attention, only to find that he couldn't even climb the window sill without hands and feet. Soon, he took an overdose of sleeping pills, but was stopped by the nursing staff.

After learning about this incident, the leaders of the army personally came to the hospital to dissuade them. A leader said to him, "Zhu Yanfu, are you worthy of your sacrificed comrades?" Are you worthy of the doctors and nurses who treat you? Do you know how much blood you lost to save you? What qualifications do you have not to cherish your life! "Zhu Yanfu thought of dead comrades, dismissed the idea of suicide.

After the doctor's appraisal, Zhu Yanfu became a special disabled soldier. Not only did he lose his left eye, but his vision in his right eye also dropped to 0.3. In addition, both legs and hands were amputated, and there were obvious scars in many places. According to the regulations, he can spend his old age safely under the care of the state.

But Zhu Yanfu said firmly: I am a soldier even if I have no hands or feet. He began a hard life training, and only practiced broken arms to eat for dozens of days.

Many things happen. A few months later, Zhu Yanfu's health improved obviously, and he was also transferred to a Korean sanatorium for the disabled. Here, while conducting rehabilitation training, he actively learns some simple cultural knowledge because he doesn't want to live like this.

1956 In the spring, Zhu Yanfu was able to move freely with the help of artificial limbs. At this moment, he no longer wants to waste the resources of the country. He wanted to live as a real soldier, so he made a decision: don't let the country raise him, go home and farm.

A few days later, Zhu Yanfu did not listen to the dissuasion of his comrades-in-arms and leaders. After completing the discharge formalities, he resolutely left the rest home and returned to his hometown of Zhangjiaquan Village. However, the sight of his hometown surprised him.

Zhangjiaquan Village is located in the south of Yiyuan County, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the land is barren. In good years, villagers can barely live, but as long as they encounter famine, they can only make a living by begging. Before liberation, it was once a famous begging village nearby.

Even after the founding of the people's Republic of China, the villagers were given land, and their lives did not improve significantly. Because of the bad ecological environment, the per capita land is less than one mu, and the population is increasing rapidly, life is still quite difficult.

Zhu Yanfu was very sad when he saw the backward scene in the village. As a soldier of party member and former People's Liberation Army, he decided to help villagers eliminate poverty and lead everyone to get rich. The experience of closed-door study told him that culture comes first.

Therefore, Zhu Yanfu deliberately vacated a thatched cottage at home, and then made several bookshelves with the boards of his mother's life-saving appliances. Later, he bought more than 200 books in the town with the demobilization fee and compensation paid by the organization, and set up the first "library" in the history of the village at home.

Zhu Yanfu often goes door to door to explain the benefits of reading to the villagers. With his efforts, the villagers also came to borrow books from his house, but he found that everyone only borrowed books and few people read them. He knew that he had overlooked an important problem, that is, the villagers were generally illiterate.

To this end, Zhu Yanfu took out his pension and started an evening school in the village. During the day, everyone worked in the fields, and at night, he took the initiative to teach the villagers to read and write with the knowledge he had learned during his retreat.

Zhu Yanfu's kindness touched a lady named Chen Xiyong, who is a public nurse in a nearby town. After hearing about Zhu Yanfu's deeds, Chen Xiyong admired him very much and took the initiative to get to know him. After constant contact, Chen Xiyong had a good impression on Zhu Yanfu, and she decided to take care of the hero for life. Soon after, they became husband and wife and took care of each other for decades.

The villagers were very moved to see that Zhu Yanfu was disabled but still tried to help everyone do practical things. At the village general election meeting on 1957, everyone unanimously elected him as the secretary of the village party branch, and Zhu Yanfu did not refuse. He is determined to lead everyone to build this village.

The education problem has been solved, and the next step is how to solve the poor life of the villagers. Knowing that he had been away from home for many years, Zhu Yanfu might not know the latest situation in the village, so he personally went to the barren hills and wasteland outside the village to investigate.

For more than a month, Zhu Yanfu climbed Nanfeng and Beidaliang again and again with crutches and artificial limbs, and saw all the mountains and rivers in Zhangjiaquan Village with his only right eye. In order not to disturb others, Zhu Yanfu often goes out to investigate by moonlight at night, so he is often covered in blood.

Practice leads to true knowledge. After full investigation, Zhu Yanfu found that besides the lack of culture and education, there are three major problems to be solved urgently: lack of land, water and electricity, so he started targeted actions.

First of all, Zhu Yanfu found that the cultivated land in the village was scattered on the barren hills divided by three large ditches, and the land use efficiency was very low. So he decided to build farmland in Pingshan, build stone arch culverts on gullies, fill pits with soil to make land, turn piecemeal farmland into pieces and expand cultivated land area.

But at that time, it required a lot of work. Many cadres in the village raised objections. Zhu Yanfu specially called the opponents together and held a meeting. At the meeting, he said loudly: "I am not afraid of a disabled person." What are you afraid of? I will go first if I have difficulties! " The voice of opposition disappeared in an instant.

After unifying thoughts, Zhu Yanfu began to lead the villagers into action. After six winters of fighting, Zhangjiaquan Village has added more than 80 acres of "Dazhaitian" on the hillside, and three large gullies have also been treated. After leveling, more than 200 acres of fertile land were added in the village.

After planting the land, Zhu Yanfu found that irrigation has become a big problem again. He knows that people can't always rely on the weather to eat, and they should try to find a long-term solution. Because they don't understand water conservancy, he specially invited water conservancy engineers from other places to help measure and plan the location of ditches and wells.

Zhu Yanfu has not been idle. He took several young people around looking for water. After the site selection was determined, he organized everyone to dig wells and repair canals. Despite the wind and rain, he insisted on guiding the villagers on the spot, and the villagers were even more moved. By 1960, there were 9 wells in the village, which completely solved the problem of villagers' domestic water use.

A few years later, Zhu Yanfu personally drew the drawings and led everyone to build an irrigation canal with a length of 1.500 meters, which really realized the dream of irrigating the fields in the village.

197 1 year, Zhu Yanfu personally went to Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinan, Xi 'an and other provinces and cities to help the village get electricity. It took seven years to prepare the materials for the 10 km road, which made Zhangjiaquan village the first local village with electricity, and the living standards of the villagers were improved.

In addition, Zhu Yanfu also attached great importance to the development of characteristic agriculture. He actively organized villagers to set up characteristic plantations such as apple orchards, pepper orchards and mulberry orchards, and the villagers really made a fortune.

In this way, Zhu Yanfu has been the secretary of the village party branch for 25 years. During these 25 years, in order to help the villagers develop and run around, he used seven pairs of artificial limbs and his wounds were broken many times, but he never complained.

Zhu Yanfu wrote in his diary: "When people are alive, they must struggle; Struggle is happiness; Struggle, happiness will continue. " "It hurts. I only know that I'm alive. As long as I'm alive, it's easy. As long as I am alive, I can do it. "

1982, Zhu Yanfu was seriously ill because of long-term overwork. Although he improved quickly, he also knew that his body could no longer lead the villagers to develop, so he voluntarily resigned as the secretary of the village party branch, but his "battle" was far from over.

Since Zhu Yanfu retired from the army, there has always been a concern in his heart, that is, to tell the world what his comrades-in-arms did on the battlefield to resist US aggression and aid Korea. Now that the villager is rich, he can finish it wholeheartedly.

One day, Zhu Yanfu called the whole family together. He said affectionately: "I am a soldier of the 26 th Army. I will fulfill his last wish for the company instructor, write down the fighting experience, and let future generations know how we fought the enemy to the death. Forgetting the past means betrayal! "

Zhu Yanfu decided to write a book to record the deeds of his comrades-in-arms, because he felt that only in this way could it be preserved forever. His children knew that his father was a trustworthy man, so they didn't stop him. The whole family supported his creation.

Because he lost his hands, Zhu Yanfu's creation was more difficult than other authors, but he insisted on doing it alone because it was his promise to his mentor.

Zhu Yanfu used three kinds of writing methods: holding the pen with his mouth, holding the pen with his arm and tying the pen with one arm. But because his right eye vision is only 0.3, his eyes will hurt badly in a short time, and he can only write a few hundred words at first.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Difficulties did not knock Zhu Yanfu down. It took him seven years to complete the novel Extreme Life with 330,000 words. During this period, he used more than 500 words of pens and more than half a ton of paper. Due to his low level of education, he also smashed four Xinhua dictionaries. ...

One night, after receiving his new book, Zhu Yanfu shut himself in his room, respectfully wrote down the names of his fallen comrades on the title page of the book, and then lit it to pay homage to his fallen comrades in this special way. That night, Zhu Yanfu breathed a sigh of relief, as if he had unloaded a heavy burden.

However, in the second year after the creation of Extreme Life, Zhu Yanfu had a stroke in a lecture and his right side was completely paralyzed. After that, I can only lie in the hospital bed to recuperate.

Even so, Zhu Yanfu still didn't give in to the disease. He adhered to his fine style in the army all the year round. He gets up on time every day, has a rest, eats properly and keeps exercising, which miraculously improves his health.

2 1 century, Zhu Yanfu was awarded honorary titles by the state, such as model of the times, model of the people, the most beautiful struggler, etc., and all walks of life widely carried out the wave of learning from Zhu Yanfu, who has become the benchmark of excellent party member.

Zhu Yanfu has six children and takes turns to take care of the lives of the elderly. Under his education, children also make their own contributions to the country in various positions.

Zhu Yanfu is 88 years old this year, and his life is still very self-disciplined. During his recuperation, he always cared about the construction of the country. He is still thinking about what he can do and what he wants to do for his country. He has been thinking about the ultimate meaning of life all his life. In fact, the life of an old man is the best interpretation of life.

Only this article pays high tribute to Zhu Yanfu and wishes the elderly a long and healthy life!
