In April 2000, the former xi Jiaotong University, the former Xi Medical University and the former Shaanxi University of Finance and Economics merged to form the new Xi Jiaotong University, and the original three libraries merged and reorganized, further expanding their scale. After the joint school, the library of Xi Jiaotong University consists of Qian Xuesen Library and two branches of medicine and finance.
In August, 2003, Medical Finance Branch moved into the newly-built West Campus Library and Scientific Research Building and merged into the West Campus Library.
