Four Classics of China Traditional Medicine
Four classic works of China's traditional medicine

The four classic works of China's traditional medicine are Huangdi Neijing, Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Synopsis of the Golden Chamber and Treatise on Febrile Diseases. Chinese medicine has a long history of thousands of years. It is a summary of the experience of the Chinese nation in fighting diseases in the long-term production and life practice. It is a medical science full of China's excellent cultural heritage and a wonderful flower in the world's traditional medicine treasure house.

The four classics of traditional Chinese medicine refer to four classics which occupy an important position in the development history of traditional Chinese medicine and have great guiding role and research value for ancient and even modern Chinese medicine. The specific composition of the four classics is controversial. At present, the academic circles generally regard Huangdi Neijing, Difficult Classic, Treatise on Febrile Diseases and Shennong Herbal Classic as the four classics of Chinese medicine. There are also some Chinese medicine textbooks that regard Huangdi Neijing, Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Synopsis of the Golden Chamber and Treatise on Febrile Diseases as four classics. The former is widely used at present.

Huangdi Neijing is divided into Lingshu and Suwen, which is the earliest medical classic in China and one of the four classic works of traditional medicine (the other three are Difficult Classic, Treatise on Febrile Diseases and Shennong Herbal Classic).

Difficult Classics is a book published during the Warring States Period. The author is Bian Que, whose original name is "Eighty-one Difficulties in Huangdi's Internal Classic", which is one of the works of ancient Chinese medicine. It is said that it was written by Qin Yueren (Bian Que) during the Warring States Period.

Treatise on Febrile Diseases is one of China's traditional medical works written by Zhang Zhongjing, and it has always been one of the main basic courses offered by Chinese medicine colleges.

Shennong's Herbal Classic, also known as Herbal Classic or Benjing, is one of the four classic works of Chinese medicine. As the earliest extant TCM works, it originated from Shennong family and was handed down from generation to generation. It was compiled into a book in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
