Design and construction concepts:
The new Wuhan Library is a library built with the concept of the third generation library. Different from the traditional library, the third generation library emphasizes "people-oriented", publicity, openness and knowledge integration. It can be said that it is more like the cultural living room of citizens. Therefore, there is a "knowledge valley" design in the current scheme. In this tall integrated space, there are book exhibition area, experience area and reading area, which can meet the needs of readers to the greatest extent.
The concept of library interior space strengthens Wuhan's urban intention of being located at the intersection of two rivers. The stepped book display in the room echoes the form of "knowledge valley" The compound space on the terrace accommodates various functions of the library, including reading area, * * * * work area and book display area. "Reading Valley" is one of the important experience spaces of the library, and it is the intersection of the knowledge and content it contains.
Another major feature of the new house map museum is its integration with the surrounding environment. The new building is visually connected with the surrounding environment in the form of "windows" through three elegant arc facades, which embodies the characteristics of openness, interaction and publicity. Citizens in the museum can experience different urban landscapes through three large windows. CBD skyline, Houxianghe Park and Fanhu Square have visual interaction with urban space. In particular, the window leading to the elevated evergreen road allows people around you to see the activities inside the building, which perfectly presents the landscape of "you are standing on the bridge watching the scenery, and the people watching the scenery are watching you upstairs".
As a new cultural landmark in Wuhan, the new Wuhan Library will adhere to the construction concept of "people-oriented, open and flexible, eco-friendly, innovative and intelligent", actively promote the transformation of the library from the traditional reading function of books to the function of collecting and lending, multimedia experience and quality training, become an ideal classroom for citizens' lifelong learning, and assume the role of "inheriting civilization, spreading culture, enlightening people's wisdom and serving the society".
