Project introduction

The second phase of the National Library is located at the junction of Zhongguancun South Street and the newly-built Wutasi Road in Haidian District, Beijing. It is located in the north of the first phase of the current library building, including the expansion of the stacks and reading rooms in the second phase and most of the newly built National Digital Library in the second phase. It is the largest chinese numerals resource bank in the world at present. The total construction area of the project is about 80,000 square meters, and the total national investment is 654.38+235 million yuan. The collection of the new library can meet the collection of books in the next 30 years, with 2,900 new reader seats and an average daily reception of 8,000 readers. It is a key project of China Ministry of Culture, a key design project of Hyundai Group and a civilized demonstration window project.

The main building of the new building is about 120m long, the base section is 90m wide, the roof is 105m- 120m wide, and the top of the base is 9.2m high. The building is a high-rise building with a total height of 26.56 meters. As a modern interpretation of the classical architectural structure, the new museum pursues the close relationship between culture and history. The new library can be horizontally divided into three parts: pedestal, transparent connector and big roof, which is a metaphor for the profound accumulation of Chinese civilization in the past and today, and a digital library representing the future development of science, technology and culture.

In the design of the new building, the green energy-saving design concept is taken seriously and considered in a forward-looking way. The building is simple and square, and the external wall and roof of the building adopt extruded polystyrene board insulation layer; The first and second floors of the building use stone shutters for external shading, the facade and skylight use hollow transparent LOW-E glass with excellent thermal performance, and the roof skylight is equipped with electric internal shading curtain; For large indoor space, floor air supply and layered air conditioning are used to effectively reduce building energy consumption. In addition, this project also makes full use of the low temperature difference between underground space and underground. There are five floors above ground and three floors underground, and the underground space accounts for 55% of the total construction area, achieving the effect of saving energy and land.
