A Brief History of China in 50,000 Years
History textbooks are always rigid, standardized and even have a certain political color. History textbooks generally tell us in the form of a running account what dynasty we experienced in a certain period, how it was established and how it died, what policies and guidelines the wise monarch adopted to make the country reach its peak, and how the bad monarch despoiled the country and finally died. The history in the textbook seems to be created by several powerful experts, and the rough seedlings write about the prosperity and rise and fall of certain historical periods. But is the real history like this? Or is this the only true history?

History textbooks give me a vague and even incomplete historical impression. I want to see a richer, more complete and more three-dimensional history.

A Brief History of China in Fifty Thousand Years gave me some answers.

What is worthy of recognition is that this book expounds the 50,000-year history of China from the perspectives of genes, language, climate, geography, politics, military affairs, culture and economy, so that the rise and fall of each period and dynasty and the lives of the people up and down are vividly presented to us. So the territory of China was formed like this? This custom began in this period? Is this how the economic center develops?

However, many viewpoints in the book come from the author's subjective views, and each author's narrative angle is not consistent, and the depth of thinking is also different, which leads to the whole book being slightly "uneven".

Compared with history textbooks, this book can be used as a supplement to our understanding of the simple history of China.

Learning history, looking at the past with our present eyes, and then gaining knowledge will be an inspiration to the future.
