Brief introduction of Xinhua township
Xinhua Township is located in the south of Tengchong, 56 kilometers away from the county seat, bordering Pu Chuan in the east, Hetou Township in Longling County across the river in the south, and Xiaochang and Pingshan Township in lianghe county in the west and north. The township area is 122 square kilometers, the east-west width is 1 1.5 kilometers, and the north-south length is 16 kilometers. Xinhua landform is surrounded by mountains and looks like an iron pot on a stove, also known as "Xiaopuwo". Xinhua has a complex geological structure and is located in the famous Cenozoic volcanic area. The territory is mountainous, and the mountains are mostly north-south, which divides the whole territory into north-south mountain basins and valleys. The dam area accounts for 4% of the total area of the township, and the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas account for 96%. The township has a large elevation difference, with the lowest elevation of 930 meters and the highest elevation of 2250 meters. The three-dimensional climate in the territory is outstanding. The township government is located in the center of Xinhua Town, with an average elevation of 1290 meters. It is a typical agricultural township in mountainous areas. Due to the natural barrier function of Gaoligong Mountain and the influence of warm air flow in Bengal bend, most areas of Xinhua belong to subtropical humid climate, which has obvious characteristics of low latitude mountain monsoon climate. The annual average temperature 17℃, annual rainfall 1797.8 mm, annual sunshine number 228 1 hour, and frost-free period of 309 days. Due to the great difference in altitude, a climate with geothermal valley has been formed.
