Although many telecom operators and equipment suppliers claim to have mastered the 5G technology, there is no exact time for large-scale commercialization. At the beginning of this year, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) released the latest draft of the 5G standard, and the final plan is expected to be finalized and passed at 1 1.
According to this draft, a single 5G base station must have at least 20Gbps downlink processing capacity, and it is understood that the current LTE base station only supports 1Gbps downlink. In addition, the future 5G standard also requires that every square kilometer must support 1 10,000 connected devices, and operators must have at least 100 MHz free spectrum, which can be extended to 1Ghz if feasible.
It is reported that according to China Mobile's 5G schedule, field trials will be carried out on 20 17 and 20 18 respectively, and commercial scale trials will be carried out. It is estimated that it will be commercialized on a 5G scale in 2020, and Guangzhou is one of the first cities of China Mobile's 5G trial network.
Guangdong Mobile's plan this time is to deploy test sites in seven locations including Guangzhou University Town Stadium, library, canteen, experimental building and teaching building. It belongs to the first field test in China.
