The library has about 900,000 books and more than 2,000 Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals. There are rich original books in major languages such as English, Russian, German, French, Japanese, Spanish and Arabic, as well as books in Portuguese, Italian, Greek, Indonesian, Dutch, Swedish, Ukrainian and Hebrew. Among them, the English Language and Literature Information Center of Hongkou Yifu Library (referred to as English Information Center) is funded by the Ministry of Education, which is rich in English language and literature resources and enjoys a high reputation in China.
