Sichuan Vocational College of Chemical Technology (formerly Luzhou Institute of Chemical Technology) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education, and is affiliated to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology. Founded in 1953, the college has a long history of running a school, and it is the only chemical higher vocational and technical college with the longest history and the greatest influence in southwest China. 1998 became the first batch of pilot schools of higher vocational education in Sichuan province, upgraded to higher vocational colleges in 2003, and won "excellent" in the talent training level evaluation of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education in 2007. 20 12 was confirmed as the project construction unit of "Provincial Demonstration Higher Vocational College Construction Plan" in Sichuan Province in June. The College is located in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, a national historical and cultural city, a national civilized city, a national health city, a "western chemical city" in China and a provincial garden city. With excellent learning conditions, it has been rated as "Garden School", "Municipal Civilized Unit" and "Provincial Comprehensive Management Model Unit" for many times.
The college now covers an area of nearly 600 mu, with more than 400,000 books in the library and more than 8,000 students. Guided by the market demand, the College has set up 36 majors (directions), forming a professional system featuring chemical medicine and coordinated development of intelligent manufacturing, information technology and economic and trade logistics. There are national vocational skill appraisal stations and several training centers.
The college has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' vocational skills. The school's experimental training base covers a total area of more than 50,000 square meters, and there are four middle school factories, including 16 experimental training base, 128 experimental training room and mechanical engineering training center.
