Yanjing Institute of Technology was established in 2005. It is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was beijing university of chemical technology North College.

20 12 school has the right to award bachelor's degree. In 20 13, it was renamed Yanjing Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education. 20 15 became the first batch of pilot universities for transformation and development in Hebei Province. 20 16 was selected as the construction unit awarded master's degree in Hebei Province. The school is located in Yanjiao High-tech Development Zone.

As of May, 20 18, the school has 9 secondary colleges, 9 disciplines including engineering, management, art, literature, economy, science, law, medicine and education, 56 undergraduate majors and 29 specialist majors. There are more than 20,000 undergraduates, and more than 36,000 outstanding graduates have been sent to the country.
