Comparison of Two Versions of China's Head

Huang Moya tried a brand-new style of writing and language in Tou China, the so-called "Hua" style. The main content of this book is a bird's-eye interpretation of the history of pre-Qin and even the history of China from the perspective of "civilization", and then the core values of China's early culture are refined.

Huang Moya became the first scholar in history to compare the pre-Qin dynasty to the first of Chinese civilization, and put forward the "first historical view" for the first time. This work gives a colorful explanation of the two most important changes in ancient China, namely, the changes of Shang and Zhou Dynasties and the changes of Zhou and Qin Dynasties. In particular, the viewpoint of "a generation of China" is repeatedly expounded, which loudly calls for cultural self-confidence under the collision of eastern civilizations and shocks readers' hearts.

China in Toudun is a pre-Qin civilization reader with both literary and academic characteristics, and its theoretical viewpoints and methods are self-contained. The names of Huang Moya and China in Toudun have appeared in Chinese and history test questions in senior high schools all over the country for many times. China in Toudun was selected as the fifth intensive reading of "One School, One Book" in Jishou University.

So far, this book has been published in two editions. The first edition of Tou China, which was planned by Wenhua, a lay writer of Shanda Literature, and published by Huashan Literature and Art Publishing House, was subtitled "A New Interpretation of the Great History of China".

Later, China's Head was reprinted by Hubei People's Publishing House. A few years later, the cover of this edition continued to use the side face of Qin terracotta warriors, but changed to white, and the waist seal of the book was removed. The subtitle of the topic was changed to "Looking at Pre-Qin from another angle".

The author revised, expanded and even rewritten many chapters and ideas in the book. For example, the second edition changed the 20 lines of the first edition and changed many titles, and the number of words increased from 270 thousand to 300 thousand.
