On the basis of expounding the basic concepts, theories and knowledge of surveying and mapping, combined with the requirements of civil engineering specialty for surveying and mapping knowledge and technology, this paper introduces the basic surveying and mapping technology in detail, focusing on the application of topographic map and the basic methods of architectural survey and design, and comprehensively introduces new surveying and mapping instruments, advanced modern surveying and mapping technology and their applications.
Fundamentals of Surveying and Mapping is a surveying course textbook for non-surveying majors in civil engineering, and can also be used as a reference for civil engineering technicians and surveying and mapping professionals. With the emergence and development of new surveying and mapping technology represented by 3S(GPS, RS, GIS) technology, the theory and method of surveying and mapping have undergone fundamental changes. Facing the new situation of the development of surveying and mapping science and technology, the editor compiled this textbook according to the needs of surveying syllabus and deepening the reform of surveying teaching, combined with the advanced technologies and methods widely used in various projects at present, and in order to meet the learning needs of non-surveying and mapping students.
