I. School facilities
1. Welfare
University life in Cambridge may be as stressful as other universities, and intense study, complicated social interaction and brand-new lifestyle will all produce various problems. But the good news is that Cambridge University has a complete welfare network.
You can communicate with the nurses, priests or tutors of the college (every student will have a tutor when he enters the school, usually a scholar, but not only responsible for the problems in the courses he studies during his school days). If you prefer to seek help outside the college, then CUSU has prepared welfare services for you, from psychological problems to sexual health.
2. Medical treatment
Each college has a nurse, who will make a preliminary examination for freshmen in the first semester and usually provide students with any health information and suggestions. In addition to university nurses, you also need to register for general practice in Cambridge. There are many major medical stations in Cambridge, as well as pharmacies in Boots and Superdrug. The school dental service center located at No.3 Trumpington Road provides dental care for you.
Addenbrooke Hospital is a local hospital located in Hill' Road. The hospital has a high level and convenient transportation, and many buses can reach it.
go shopping
There are supermarkets, bookstores and shopping centers near the university.
4. Banks
Banks are everywhere, at least in the city center. For example, HSBC, Barclays, NatWest, etc. No matter where you are, you can find it in 2 minutes. It seems that every student in the town needs to bring a lot of money at any time.
5. Part-time job
The building of the Career Service Center is located in Mill Lane in the city center, where you can get information about writing resumes and specific career guidance manuals, accept interviews or communicate with career counselors. There is also a very practical employment website (http://www.careers.cam.ac.uk), which lists the existing job vacancies.
Second, school accommodation.
Residential college first appeared in Cambridge University, where students can choose different ways of accommodation, including school apartments and British families.
The dormitories arranged by the school are strictly managed and strictly abide by the rules formulated by the British government's health departments, social services, fire safety and other departments. This can ensure that all students are taken good care of in a safe and healthy environment. Student dormitories, including Heidfeld House and Heidfeld Hotel, Hamilton Hotel, Heidfeld House and Heidfeld Hotel, are all about half a mile away from the teaching point and the railway station. There are single dormitory and double dormitory. Hamilton Lodge is located in the center of Cambridge and the university district, in the most prosperous area of Cambridge, adjacent to Jianhe and Jesus Green.
Third, the library
The book system of Cambridge University is divided into three levels. The first floor is the main library of the school. The main library is a copyright library, which means that it owns all the books published in Britain. Of course, there are a large number of books, periodicals and archives in the museum. Undergraduate students in Cambridge can borrow books only in their junior year, but they can read them in the library.
In addition to the main library, the second floor is the departmental library. As long as they are registered in the libraries of various departments, students can actually borrow books from libraries of other departments, not just their own libraries.
The last floor is the academic library. Although each college is different, it usually provides a wide variety of books, and the borrowing restrictions are smaller than those of previous grades. Of course, unlike the main library and the department library, the college library is usually only open to college students.
