Guizhou minzu university, short for Guimin University, is located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. Established by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, it was selected as a new engineering research and practice project, and named the national excellent traditional cultural heritage base of ordinary universities.

It is a second-class university with excellent undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education, an overseas student university with a scholarship from the China Municipal Government, and a key construction university in Guizhou Province supported by East China Normal University and South China University of Technology.

The school was founded in 195 1, formerly known as Guizhou Institute for Nationalities, and was renamed guizhou minzu university on October 20 12 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government.

As of September 2022, the school has two campuses, Huaxi and University Town, covering an area of 2 183 mu and a school building area of 760,000 square meters. The library has 654380+08700 paper books. There are 23 colleges and universities offering 8 1 general undergraduate majors.
