19 18 graduated from Tongji university and then transferred to Buddhism. 1930, he taught China Buddhism in Peking University, Tsinghua and other universities. From 65438 to 0936, he served as the chairman of North China Jushilin, where he set up a Buddhist library and a Buddhist painting research class. And set up a Buddhist research society, edited six kinds of Buddhist history books, some of which have been completed, but not in Fu Zi. 1940 founded China Buddhist College (the campus is located in Ruiying Temple), 194 1 year founded Buddhist Monthly (194 1- 1944), and also published China Buddhist College Annual. After liberation, he initiated and joined the Chinese Buddhist Association, which was founded in 1953 and served as the vice president. During this period, he led and completed the editing of the Encyclopedia of Buddhism, the rubbing of Fangshan Shijing and the investigation of China Grottoes. After 1956, he presided over the work of China Buddhist College, served as the vice president and provost of China Buddhist College, personally taught and taught graduate students, and devoted himself to the Buddhist education in China. He has served as the vice president of Nepalese China Friendship Association and the head of the fifth branch of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Democratic League, and was elected as the representative of the third and fourth National People's Congress.
His important works include History of Buddhism in China, Notes on the Pleasure of Northern Religion, Research on Consciousness, Research on Yin Ming, etc. There are also two volumes of Zhou Shujia's Buddhist essays handed down from generation to generation.
