The library has more than 30 stacks and reading rooms, including social science stacks, self-taught stacks, literature stacks, rare stacks, intensive reading stacks, present stacks, post stacks, ancient books stacks, sample stacks, degree discussion stacks, reference books reading rooms, Henan local literature reading rooms, quality education reading rooms, foreign language reading rooms and retrieval reference books reading rooms, as well as several public reading areas. All reading rooms and stacks are open-shelf services, and the circulation stacks have completely realized the integration of collection, borrowing and reading.
The library has 53 10000 books and materials. Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals 185 16, including 35 paper newspapers and periodicals16, full-text electronic periodicals 15000 and audio-visual materials165438. Under the network information environment, the proportion of electronic resources purchased by libraries is increasing year by year. Up to now, there are 23 Chinese databases, including CNKI China Journal Full-text Database, VIP Sci-tech Journal Full-text Database, Wan Fang Data Thesis Full-text Database, National Research Network Database, NPC Newspaper Copy Database, CBMdisc Medical Database, Scholars' Home Digital Library, etc. There are 23 forEIgn language databases including SCI, ISTP, JCR, ei, INSPEC, CA, Springer, Elsvier, EBSCO, Netlibrary, Medline, Ovid 236, and PQDD. The above Chinese and foreign language databases provide 24×7 services through the campus network for all teachers and students to consult and retrieve at any time.
Our library has realized the modernization of the library with "automation, networking and digitalization" as the main content, and has reached a higher level at present, realizing the pattern of open management and service of collection resources. Our library uses IlASII2.0 library automation integrated management system to fully realize the automation of business work and provide online inquiry and self-service for all teachers and students. The online and offline secondary digital resource storage systems are established. At the same time, the "Digital Library Platform" has been introduced and developed, which has many functions, such as portal authentication, resource integration, one-stop retrieval, interlibrary loan, document delivery, network virtual reference service and so on. To improve the management function and service level of digital resources and further improve the utilization rate of electronic resources.
The library has both information service and education function, which can provide information retrieval, literature novelty retrieval and tracking services for large-scale scientific research projects and enterprises at home and abroad, and also undertake the teaching tasks of literature retrieval courses at all levels in schools.
The library attaches great importance to foreign exchanges and cooperation, and has established friendly and cooperative relations with some domestic university libraries, and established joint relations with the Information Management Department of Zhengzhou University. The secretariat of the Library and Information Work Committee of colleges and universities in Henan Province and the management center, art center, engineering center and medical center of the document guarantee system of higher education in Henan Province are all located in Zhengzhou University Library, which is also the location of the national higher education document information service center. Our library not only serves the development of Zhengzhou University, but also serves the construction, knowledge, enjoyment, modernization and digitalization of university libraries and higher education literature resources in Henan Province.
