Brief introduction to the curator of the British National Library
Ms Lynn Brindley, director of the British Library, received a Bachelor's degree in Music (including German and Philosophy) from the University of Reading, a Master's degree in Library Science and Information Science from University College London and an honorary doctorate in literature from Nottingham Trent University. On July 1 2000, she became the director of the British Library. Previously, she was vice-chancellor and director of Leeds University. During her tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Leeds University, Ms. brindley was responsible for the research and development of university communication and information technology strategies, as well as academic services, including multimedia services, language centers, job search and information systems and university libraries, and made great achievements in the modern planning of higher education literature provision. Looking at Ms. Brindley's professional resume, we can find that she has served as the manager of a series of advanced research institutions, including the London School of Economics and Aston University. She also serves as a senior management consultant for private multinational company KPMG 1. 1979- 1985 used to work in the bibliographic service department and the curator's office of the British National Pavilion. Now Ms. Brindley is still a visiting professor at Leeds University and Leeds City University.
