Xihua is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province, in the heart of the Yellow River flood area. It is the place where Nu Wa, the "Oriental Goddess", established its capital in China's historical legend, and is known as "the old capital of Wahuang".

There are historical sites and tourist attractions under development in the territory, such as Nuwa City, Kunshan Nuwa Palace, Panguzhai Site, Emperor Gaozong Wuding Mausoleum of Shang Dynasty, Jizhi Reading Desk of Yin Shang Dynasty, Longquan Temple, Chu Jia Luhe, Hanhonggou, Monument to the Commander of the New Fourth Army, Nuwa Square, Yongxiu Garden and Tiankou Zaoyuan, among which the site of Nuwa City in the Spring and Autumn Period.
