National joint catalogue of periodicals National joint catalogue database
The national periodical joint catalogue database was established at 1983, which was developed by the Document Information Center of China Academy of Sciences (the predecessor of the National Science Library of China Academy of Sciences) and won the second prize of scientific and technological progress of China Academy of Sciences. It is the achievement of the Ninth Five-Year Plan project of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the China Academy of Sciences.

Since 2002, with the support of the National Science Digital Library Construction Project of China Academy of Sciences, a major knowledge innovation project of China Academy of Sciences, the national periodical joint catalogue database has developed greatly on a new platform. At present, the national periodical joint catalogue database has developed into a multi-disciplinary large-scale database, including: the national western periodical joint catalogue database, the national Japanese periodical joint catalogue database, the national Russian periodical joint catalogue database and the national Chinese periodical joint catalogue database; Subjects cover mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geography, life science, agriculture, medicine, information science, industrial technology, social science and so on. Member libraries are spread all over the country, including more than 400 major large public libraries, China Academy of Sciences System Library, China Academy of Social Sciences System Library, information offices of major ministries and commissions, scientific research system libraries, key university libraries and military health system libraries.

By the end of 2008, the national periodical joint catalogue database * * * contained 54,000 printed periodicals in western languages and 268,000 printed periodicals in Japanese, including 7,000 printed periodicals and 25,000 printed periodicals in Japanese. It has collected more than 6,500 kinds of Russian printed periodicals, with a collection of 1.8 million articles; There are 0.9 million Chinese printed periodicals/kloc-0, with a collection of 83,000 books.
