Tianmen City, formerly known as Jingling, Jingling and Fuzhou, is a county-level city and municipality directly under the Central Government of Hubei Province. It is a member of Wuhan metropolitan area and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a regional central city in Hubei Province. It is located in the south-central part of Hubei Province, in the north of Jianghan Plain, bordering Dahongshan in the north, Hanjiang River in the south, Jingzhou in the west and 90 kilometers from Wuhan in the east. Therefore, Tianmen in Hubei does not belong to Jingzhou.

Tianmen city has many tourist attractions. The following are some famous scenic spots: Lu Yu Park, Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiahu National Wetland Park, Changshou Mountain, Shijiahe Site in Tianmen, Tianmen Museum and Tianmen Library.
