Early reading is beneficial to children's language acquisition, reading ability and generalization ability. Suhomlinski once said: "People who don't learn to read fluently and understand can't master knowledge smoothly". Interest is the psychological tendency of people to know and explore something, and it is the internal motivation to promote individual activities. Cultivating children's interest in reading from an early age will help them grow into people who are full of enthusiasm and desire for reading and can read effectively. How to stimulate children's interest in reading? Here I want to talk about my own experience and views. First, use colorful forms to carry out real and effective reading activities.
According to the goal of early reading education, systematically cultivate children's reading ability and carry out various forms of reading activities, so that each child's reading ability can be developed to varying degrees.
1, group reading
Group activity is a very economical and effective activity. It can be aimed at a certain focus, and it can also understand some wrong skills or cognition of children. Some children have received more extracurricular books at home, mastered reading methods and learned a lot of knowledge. But quite a few students just look at the pictures, which has little influence. The main reason is that they study in isolation, have certain reading disabilities, and lack mutual "learning" between peers. In view of this situation, guiding children to learn cooperative reading in groups has strengthened mutual cooperation among children.
2. Collective reading style
Take a relatively concentrated reading form. First, the teacher will show a big book to demonstrate reading. On the basis of preliminary understanding, let the children concentrate and read a short book each. In this way, teachers can comprehensively observe the activities of most children, which is convenient for centralized guidance.
3. Entertainment reading style
Take a more scattered and casual reading form. After the children choose the reading materials, they can go to the activity area freely. Teachers can observe the activities of individual children in their leisure reading activities, which is helpful to guide individual children.
Second, interest is the best teacher. The key factor to improve children's reading ability is to improve their reading interest.
Reading material is the carrier of reading activities, the direct object of children's reading, and the basic condition to determine whether children are interested in reading. Du Jing, an American scholar, conducted a study on school-age children and found that children's reading interest is highly correlated with the optimization of books and reading materials. Therefore, kindergartens should first sort out and select books that can arouse children's interest in reading. Through research, it is found that the materials that can arouse children's interest in reading mainly have the following characteristics.
1, storyline: suspense, unexpected ending.
Plain stories without ups and downs are not enough to interest children. For example, the book "Kicking Hard" almost speaks from the picture. Although the story is consistent, there is no ups and downs, no suspense, and the result is nothing special. The child showed no obvious interest in reading. The book Nick Looking for Glasses is very popular with children. In the story "Nick Looking for Glasses", Nick, a child, can't find his glasses. He has looked for many places, but nowhere. Where are the glasses? This leaves a suspense, attracting children to continue to look down. As a result, eyes grew on Nick's own nose. The ending was unexpected and interesting, and all the children liked it.
2, theme: close to children's daily life, children like to have experience.
The more familiar children are with the background knowledge of reading content, the more relevant reading content is to their life experiences, the more they can have relevant experiences and buzz, and the more interested children are in reading materials.
For example, this is me shows my appearance, height, favorite books, favorite toys, favorite foods and favorite paintings when I was five, four, three, two, one and just born. Because it is closely related to children themselves, children can think of their own situation during reading, so children especially like it.
3. Language style: the vocabulary is colloquial, and the sentences are repeated frequently.
The language style of reading materials will also affect children's reading interest. Oral English makes children feel familiar and can naturally interact with them; Too written language is divorced from children's language system, and children feel strange and difficult to understand, which affects their reading mood. For example, reading What Did the Bees See, a popular book, has no strong plot and interest, and there are too many words: "placement", "foraging", "sweetness" and "fertile soil", which are difficult for children to understand and boring. On the contrary, if the language is suitable for children's characteristics, the sentence trunk has a certain repetition frequency, catchy and easy to remember, it will be deeply loved by children.
4. Layout form: illustrated with pictures and texts, with pictures as the main part, supplemented by words, and pictures and texts are highly corresponding.
By analyzing the books selected by children in the reading area, it is found that children like books with illustrations and pictures best. Among them, children like books with large and colorful pictures, followed by books with more than one page. They don't like adult pictures and books with dim colors, and they don't like books with too many words, supplemented by pictures and small and dense words.
(C) using the representation principle to improve children's reading ability
The so-called representation principle refers to guiding children to visualize the reading materials in their minds through painting and illustration according to the text content provided by the reading materials, so as to establish a strong collocation (content and representation) in their minds, thus improving their reading ability.
1. Use pictures and charts to express or convey children's understanding of reading works.
Children have no written foundation, and their understanding of works is often linked by graphic symbols provided by reading materials. Therefore, pictures and charts can help children better understand the meaning of reading materials. For example, Mao Mao loves beauty very much, but she can't eat well. Under the guidance of the teacher, she chose the story "The caterpillar wants to become a butterfly" to share with the children. On the basis of reading caterpillars and trying to eat every meal, she encourages children and their mothers to make their own meal plans through "stickers". In this way, guide children to engage in reading happily and fully experience the happiness expressed in reading.
2. Transfer and expand imagination to provide children with ways of language expression and communication.
In the process of reading, children in small classes like to enter the plot of reading and regard the role as themselves. According to this feature, teachers use the transfer method to guide children to feel the situation, emotions and desires of the role from the perspective of the role, ask questions to think and ask for expression. For example, when guiding children to read Guess how much I love you, the teacher prepared rabbit hair clips for children to attract them to migrate their works. "If you were a rabbit and a mother rabbit, how would you change?" Guide children to experience the mother-child affection migrated from the story according to the situation of the role.
