Overview:
Tibet Institute for Nationalities was founded in June 1957, formerly known as Tibet Public School. July 1965, renamed Tibet Institute for Nationalities. At present, Tibet University for Nationalities has developed into a modern multidisciplinary institution of higher learning integrating literature, science, economics, management, law, medicine and teaching. Is a master's degree authorization unit, with four master's degree awarding points: China Philosophy, Ethnology, Minority Economy and China Ancient Literature. There are 22 undergraduate majors and a number of higher vocational and technical colleges. There are more than 800 faculty members, including more than 200 professors and associate professors with professional and technical titles above associate senior level. There are dozens of experts who enjoy special government allowances, young and middle-aged scholars who have made outstanding contributions, outstanding teachers in the country, and teaching experts in provinces and regions. The library has more than 400,000 books.
