Yuzuru Hanyu did not enter Japanese universities as a sports student, but was admitted to Waseda University with cultural achievements, majoring in humanities and information science in the Ministry of Humanities. He once added the thinking of "life" learned in the discipline to the flower slip design. So some people say that Yuzuru Hanyu's performance is not skating, but writing poems on the ice. He published two autobiographies, and even what he said was included in The Quotations of Yuzuru Hanyu.

Yuzuru Hanyu entered Waseda University in 20 13 by passing the general examination, majoring in humanities and information science in the Department of Humanities. This course has distance learning service in the school. Japanese TV station went to Toronto to shoot his documentary.
