I isrc- international standard coding of audio-visual products
1992 in may, China state bureau of technical supervision approved the compulsory national standard "China standard audio-visual product coding" (GB 13396-92). This standard was drafted by the Publication Format Sub-committee of the National Document Standardization Technical Committee with reference to the international standard "International Standard Record Code-ISRC" (IS03901-1986) and combined with the actual situation in China. According to this standard, starting from 1993 65438+ 10/day, all domestic audio-visual publishing houses must add an international standard audio-visual product code marked "ISRC" to recorded programs and every part of programs that can be used independently. This code, like ISBN of books and ISSN of periodicals, will be the only international identification code of another kind of knowledge products-audio-visual products. Its implementation will definitely have a positive impact on the publishing, copyright protection, information exchange and market management of audio-visual products in China.
Second, the coding structure of ISRC
The general structure of 1 isrc
The general structure of the International Standard Audio-visual Product Coding (ISRC) is shown in Figure 1:
Figure 1 International Standard Audio and Video Recording Coding Structure (ISRC)
Among them, the capital letter "ISRC" is an indispensable symbol of the international standard audio-visual product coding, and the country code, publisher code, recording year code, recording code and recording project code are five data segments that make up the ISRC coding. Paragraphs are separated by hyphens. The total length of the five data segments is 12 characters, which is a fixed-length coding structure without parity bits (see Figure 2).
Description of five data segments in 2.2. ISRC coding
(1) Country Code (country code) Pseudo code of the country where the audio-visual publisher is located, consisting of two capital letters. According to the international standard ISO 166 "Code of Country and Region Names". For example, SE=SWEDEN (Sweden).
Fig. 2 Example analysis of ISRC coding
(2) The publisher code is the company code that owns the first copyright of the audio-visual product, also known as the first owner code, and consists of three characters, in which the number ranges from 0 to 9, and the letters range from A to H, J to N and P to Z. This letter does not contain "I" and "O" to avoid confusion with the numbers 1 and 0. Generally speaking, 3 characters contain at least 1 letter or number.
According to the permutation and combination rules, the publisher code of a country can be set.
3x (10x10x24+10x24x24) = 24824 (piece)
(3) The recording year code is the year code when the audio-visual product is recorded or launched, and the last two digits of the year are taken. For example, 92 stands for 1992, and the recording year code is determined by the audio-visual publishing house.
(4) The recording code identifies the sequence code of an audio-visual product in the recording year, which is set to 3 or 4 digits by the publisher.
(5) The recording item code identifying each independent program in the audio-visual product consists of 2 digits or 1 digit.
It is important to note that in an ISRC code, the record code and the record item code are two different and interrelated data segments, and their respective lengths are variable, but their total length must be 5 bits and cannot be changed. That is, when the recording code is 3 digits, the recording item code must be 2 digits (3-2 combination or B code for short), and when the recording code is 4 digits, the recording item code should be 1 bit (4- 1 combination or A code for short).
This unique coding design of ISRC is made to adapt to the situation that there are more or less independent programs in audio-visual records. That is, when the number of independent programs included in an audio-visual recording is greater than 9, the recording code and the recording item code match at 3-2, so the recording item code value can be from 00-99. When the number of programs that can be used independently in an audio-visual recording is less than 65,438+00, the combination of the recording code and the recording item code is 4-65,438+0, so the recording item code is between 0 and 9. (See coding example).
Third, the structure of Chinese standard audio-visual product coding
China Standard Audio-visual Product Coding (CSRC) national standard stipulates that a Chinese standard audio-visual product coding consists of two parts. The first part is the International Standard Audio-visual Product Coding (ISRC), which is the main body of China Securities Regulatory Commission. The second part is the category code of audio-visual recording, which is the recording type of audio-visual recording and the theme classification identification of the main content. It is a supplementary part of China Securities Regulatory Commission. These two parts are separated by "/". As shown in Figure 3:
Figure 3 Coding structure of Chinese standard audio-visual products
The specific description of ISRC in 1 China Securities Regulatory Commission (short for China Securities Regulatory Commission)
In the standard and description of corporate social responsibility, the values of several data segments of ISRC are studied in detail.
(1) The country code of China is "CN".
(2) The first character of the code of China Audio-visual Publishing House is a capital letter, and the second and third digits are numbers. For example:
A 0 1- Chinese record companies, etc. * * * At present, it can identify 2,400 audio-visual publishing units and 300 audio-visual publishing units nationwide, which is enough for distribution.
(3) The matching relationship between the record code and the record project code is shown in Table 1:
According to the table 1, each publisher can allocate 3700 ISRC codes for audio-visual recording in each recording year. Among them, there are 3000 ISRC records of 0-9 entry and 700 ISRC records of 00-99 entry.
Assembly and distribution system record code record project code
4- 1 component (a code) 0000-2999 0-9
3-2 combination (B code) 300-99900-99
2.2 structure. Category code of China Securities Regulatory Commission
The category code in Chinese standard audio-visual product coding consists of record type code and subject classification code, which are separated by dots.
(1) Record type code: a capital letter, a or Vo.
Audio recording (audio)
Video recording (video)
(2) Subject classification code: the classification code that gives the main contents of audio-visual records according to the X category number (1 big letter) and the secondary category numbers of culture, education (G category) and art (J category).
For example, the category code "A G4" represents a language teaching tape.
The category code "V.J6" stands for music video.
It must be emphasized that the category code is only used for the whole audio-visual recording, and it is not necessary to attach this part to the ISRC of each program item that can be used independently.
3. Coding example
Through two coding examples, we can have a clearer understanding of the coding structure of China standard audio-visual products.
Example 1: If the publishing code of XX Audio-Visual Publishing House is assigned to AD5, it will record a cassette called Dream of Red Mansions-Theme Song of TV Series on 1987, which contains 13 song programs. Because it has more than 9 programs, it must use the B-type recording code (let the recording code be 3 17), so the contents of the ISRC code and this tape are as follows:
Israel cn-a05-87-3 17-00/a.j6 (a dream of red mansions-theme song of TV series) (full recording coding)
ISRCC CN-A05-87-317-01Song Qingwen (No.65438 +0 Song on the A side)
ISRCC CN-A05-87-3 17-02 Lei Congming (No.2 in Face A)
Israel cn-a05-87-3 1 7-07 exclamation point Xiangling (SongNo.1on B)
ISRCC CN-A05-87-317-13 A Dream of Red Mansions (the last song on the B side)
Example 2: If the publisher code assigned by XX Audio and Video Publishing House ISRC 18, and it recorded a video named "Huangshan Scenery Highlights" at 1990, including the scenery of six Huangshan scenic spots, and the number of independent entries is less than 10, then the A-type recording code should be used (set the recording code as 0009).
Isrccn-c18-90-0009-0/v.j4 "Huangshan Scenery Highlights" (overall record coding)
ISR CC CN-C18-90-0009-1is one of the scenic spots in Huangshan Mountain.
ISRCC CN-C 18-90-0009-6 The Sixth Scene of Huangshan Mountain
Four. Management and use of ISRC
1.isrc management system,
From the structure of the International Standard Audio-visual Product Coding (ISRC), we can see that it is similar to the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) and is a management system with distinct hierarchical relationship (see Figure 4).
(1) International ISRC Center: It is responsible for the implementation and management of ISRC in the world, and is the international registration institution of ISRC. 1988 is an international Federation of the phonographic industry in London (IFPI) designated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
(2) National ISRC Center: The main task is to distribute publishing house codes to audio-visual companies registered in China, and regularly submit publishing house lists to the International Center. At present, except Britain, France, Germany and the Netherlands; Sweden, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and other Western European countries have established national ISRC centers, and the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, India and other countries have also established their own ISRC centers around 1990.
China ISRC Center was established in 1992, located in the General Administration of Press and Publication.
(3) Audio-visual publishing company: responsible for the distribution and management of its audio-visual products in ISRC, and notify the National Center of the products that have been distributed in ISRC.
There is no doubt that ISRC will play an important role in this huge international information management system.
2.2 rules of use. ISRC
In order to ensure the uniqueness and reliability of ISRC coding of audio-visual products. The International ISRC Center has compiled the Practical Guide to ISRC, and put forward some regulations and suggestions on the issuance and use of ISRC, the most basic of which are as follows:
(1) Once the ISRC code of audio-visual products is allocated, it will remain unchanged for life. No matter when, where or copyright culture can beat it.
(2) If the content of audio-visual products changes, a new ISRC code should be assigned separately.
(3) ISRC codes are not allowed to be assigned repeatedly, and one ISRC code can only be assigned to one audio-visual product.
(4) The ISRC code should be printed and displayed in important positions such as the cover, core and title of audio-visual records (products).
(5) A complete database of ISRC records should be established, and each ISRC record should include basic information such as catalog number, song title, performer, author and broadcast time.
The Development and Application Prospect of verb (abbreviation of verb) ISRC
ISRC came into being under the background of the rapid development of modern recording technology and the expanding market of audio-visual products. It provides an internationally unique standard code for each independent program in various audio-visual products and products. With the development of computer network and photoelectric communication technology, the development of high-tech radio and television industry and the internationalization of audio-visual products trade and circulation, ISRC will show its important role more and more. 1988, IFPI applied ISRC to the mobile video of its member countries, and achieved great success in preventing piracy and infringement. ISRC will also promote the computerization of information storage, retrieval, communication and statistics of audio-visual records. In the future paid service systems such as cable TV, ISRC will also become a reliable basis for automatic timing payment and billing.
In China, the use of ISRC will also have a positive impact on strengthening the management of audio-visual market, banning illegal audio-visual publications and prospering socialist culture.
From 1 99365438+1October1,ISRC will be implemented in China's audio-visual publishing industry and printed on hundreds of millions of boxes of audio-visual editions, which indicates that China's audio-visual industry will go global.
