As a reporter, a family education researcher and a children's literature writer, I have interviewed many teenagers, and some of them have even been followed up for more than 30 years. I have a routine discovery. The truly successful and happy teenagers are almost all children who love reading, thinking and practice.
On February 1 day, 2009, Reference News published the story of a successful girl.
The girl's name is Zou Qiqi, and she is only 1 1 years old. At the age of eight, she published a story collection of 6.5438+0.2 million words, which became famous in one fell swoop. She appeared on The oprah winfrey Show of American media and Good Morning America of ABC, and was called "the little giant of American literature" by the host.
More than 300 stories written by Qiqi are mostly set in the Middle Ages. From ancient Egypt to the Renaissance, the article reveals the unique views on politics, religion and education, with profound ideological connotation and rigorous literary thinking. It's hard to believe that they were written by an eight-year-old child.
When asked about her daughter's success, Zou Qiqi's mother said: Living with her is like living in a university, because she has been teaching others "new" knowledge. Kiki's mother "always praises and encourages her daughter", and the philosophy at home is: "Learning is as natural as eating and drinking water, and never give up learning."
Qiqi attributed his success to his extensive bibliography. She said that her books include astronomy, geography, literature, history and so on. And her favorite is history and novels. Qiqi's reading speed is also amazing. She can read 700 pages of Harry Potter novels in eight hours.
Qiqi's success lies in her good reading habits. "Learning is as natural as eating and drinking water". Isn't this the best education that every parent should give their children from an early age?
I reflect on my growth process and find that reading and writing are two good habits that have made my life.
Because of my poor family and my parents' low educational level, I didn't read any literary classics before I was eleven. When I was eleven years old, that is, 1966, the "Cultural Revolution" began. My brother is fifteen years old and studies in a factory technical school in Qingdao. At that time, the popular crazy slogan was "sweep away all poisonous weeds", and as a result, the factory threw the famous literary works in the library all over the floor and prepared to destroy them. My brother thought: What a pity that so many famous books have been destroyed! Seeing no one at the scene, he quickly packed his schoolbag and went home.
No one would have thought that the literary masterpiece of this schoolbag changed my fate. My brother took this book home and read it day and night. Because of the "suspension of classes and revolution" at that time, the students stopped going to school. Due to the limited conditions at home, my brother and I share a room of only a few square meters. He reads in front of me every day, which naturally attracts my great attention. Children and teenagers are the most curious, and imitation is their nature. Huh? What good things? Why is my brother so obsessed? I want to see it, too. As a result, I like it at once.
I can't forget the literary masterpieces in this schoolbag, such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Lin Yuan, Song of Youth, Hongyan, Kucaihua, Fire King Kong and Fenglei. The first time I came into contact with so many literary classics, I was deeply shocked! Ah, literature is so fascinating, life is so magnificent, and writers are simply the most amazing people! I must read more books. I hope I can become a writer and write a good book for everyone to read with relish. So, during the Cultural Revolution, I looked for books everywhere and began to try literary writing. It is in that cultural desert that the dreamy occasional flash of literary oasis strongly attracted me, saved me, made me form the habit of reading, and benefited me for life. Until today, I have retired for several years. Every time you go on a business trip, you must bring one or two books and some selected newspapers and periodicals in your bag. If I don't bring them, it's as unbearable as forgetting to bring a plane ticket and a plane ticket. My daughter also likes buying books and reading, but I don't remember how to ask her to read. Only in our family, the most furniture must be bookcases, and even books are often placed on sofas and pianos.
For my barren childhood, reading is the best enjoyment and the sweetest milk. I can fully understand Mo Yan's desire to grind books for others when he was a child. Besides, when I was a child, I was not only poor, but also stuttered. I am often laughed at when I play with my companions, so I feel deeply inferior in my heart. After reading literary classics, miracles appeared.
At that time, because there was no class, my companions played together almost all day. There are always times when you are tired of playing, and everyone agrees to take turns telling stories. Whoever doesn't tell a story won't play with anyone. When it's my turn, I try to talk about the books I read. Unexpectedly, although I stutter, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is very popular. My friends kept their necks straight and repeatedly asked what the result was. In this way, I talked intermittently for more than a month. Later, at the request of my partners, I talked about the Water Margin again. Looking back now, I suddenly understand why I became more and more confident later. Why do you dare to be a monitor and speak in public when you enter junior high school? Because when I was a child, I opened the "Lecture Room"! Never had a successful experience, like a flash of lightning in the night sky, let me see my potential and taste great happiness.
