Xidajie Library is the former site of Shanxi Provincial Library, and moved to the new library in the southern suburb of Shanxi Provincial Library on 200 1. Now the West Street Library is facing expansion and reconstruction. After the transformation, the comprehensive reading room, children's reading room, newspaper reading room and electronic reading room will be gradually opened to provide readers with various special services such as borrowing registration, literature retrieval consultation, education and training. The Children's Branch of Shanxi Library was officially opened to young readers on June 1 2005. It is located at No.53, South Yard Gate, West Street (former site of West Street 146 Provincial Library).
