"See Gu Xiu on June 6th", in which June 6th refers to the sixth day of the sixth lunar month. "Watching the Valley Show" means watching the crops heading and blooming. The so-called "five grains" is the same as the "five grains" in the current international saying, and it does not simply refer to millet. On this day, it is an open question whether the crops can get a bumper harvest. It contains farmers' psychology of expecting and celebrating the bumper harvest of crops.
"Before the summer is over, cut the grain to feed the old cow": before the summer is over, the millet will not ear and be confiscated. Like useless weeds, they can only be cut and fed to cattle.
