Wuxi Library is located in the south of the newly-built Taihu Square, echoing the Great Hall of the People in Wuxi, bordering the Grand Canal in the west and the Wuxi Museum under construction in the east. Construction of the new building began in August, 1995, with an investment of 66 million yuan. It was officially completed and opened on 1 October1day, 2000. Since July 1 2002, it has been continuously renovated and fully opened to the outside world.
