At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, because Judy, the prince of Yan, seized the throne, there was a "battle of Jing Nan". Yuan Jia was involved with people who opposed the prince and his property was robbed. Yuan Lefan's ancestors escaped capture, began to flee, and then settled in Wujiang.

According to Peng Shaosheng's Biography of Yuan Lefan Jushi in Qing Dynasty, Yuan Lefan's ancestors were adopted in Jiashan County, so he was able to become a student in Jiashan County. This paper is based on Yuan's Letters in Shanghai Library and Jiashan County Records in Wanli Period of Ming Dynasty. The latest research results at home and abroad, combined with the author's on-the-spot investigation of Yuan Lefan's tomb, as well as textual research on Yuan Lefan and his Four Instructions to Fan, are expected to clarify the origin and truth.
In the 22nd year of Wanli (1594), Huang Yuan's family moved from Tang Wei Town, Jiashan County, Jiaxing Prefecture to Zhao Tian Village, LULU Town, Wujiang County, Suzhou Prefecture. Since then, he called himself "Zhao Tianyi Nong" and lived in seclusion in Zhao Tian for 12 years. After his death, he was buried in Wang Jiacun Viper Bang (changed to Dushebang after liberation) in Huimin Town, Jiashan County according to his wishes.
