In autumn and September, there are bright sunshine everywhere, colorful colors everywhere, sweet birds and flowers everywhere, intoxicating fragrance everywhere, a green world and a sea of flowers everywhere. Under such a beautiful seasonal background, a group of 24 people gathered at Jinji Expressway at 7: 00 am on September 12, officially unveiling a two-day love tour of Zunhua Tian Yu. Let love ignite hope, build a strong fortress with love, start a new journey of love with a different weekend, and sublimate the inner "self" happiness into the "self" happiness that more people need.
On April 20 18, I was fortunate to visit Yutian and Zunhua in Tangshan City, Hebei Province for the first time with a few like-minded friends, and recorded the family situation of every poor child with love and sincerity. The local poverty has raised many hardworking children, and I was very moved after the visit. In the past two years, although I have been to many places several times to discuss the current situation of poor children, I am deeply concerned about whether the situation of Zunhua and Yutian's children has improved or not, and there are other problems that need to be solved urgently.
In order to explore these problems and solve inner doubts, I got up at 5: 30 yesterday morning, went out at 6: 00, arrived at the meeting place at 6: 30, and set off at 7: 00 on time for Zunhua and Yutian in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. After a long journey of nearly two hours, we arrived at the first stop of this trip-Taiping United Primary School in Xindianzi Town, zunhua city.
Founded in 1980s, Taiping United Primary School is a school jointly contracted by five surrounding villages, aiming at ensuring that all school-age children in surrounding villages receive nine-year compulsory education normally. Taiping United Primary School covers an area of 9,675 square meters with a building area of 156 1 square meter. Since 20 12, the school has continuously increased investment to improve the school infrastructure and replaced doors, windows, desks and chairs. 20 18 With the support of the national and municipal education bureaus, the campus has been transformed, which has made a qualitative change in the school infrastructure.
When I first entered the campus at nine o'clock in the morning, the beautiful and spacious campus gave people a refreshing and shocking feeling. The original simple rows of bungalow classrooms were repainted by the school. Bright colors give students a "silent teacher", and every "talking" wall creates a good learning and living environment for students. In July this year, a caring volunteer service organization in Zunhua donated a basketball court to the school and installed it in the square on the east side of the campus. At the same time, more than 600 square meters of artificial lawn has been laid on the campus, and various plants such as magnolia, peach, swallow tail, golden doll and weeping willow have been planted on the campus, providing students with a positive, clean and tidy campus environment in all directions. In addition, in order to provide more convenient care for the children in the surrounding villages, Taiping United Primary School has specially built a school-age kindergarten on campus and opened a plantation with an area of about 100 square meter. Such a beautiful campus environment creates a feeling of "going home" for students.
I chatted with the primary school teachers of the Taiping Liaison Office and learned that the campus environment of the school has really developed greatly in recent years with the strong support of various policies. Compared with hardware facilities, schools now lack software facilities, such as libraries and computer rooms. Therefore, at present, the school only recruits students from grade one to grade four, and students from grade five and six need to transfer to the relatively distant Kanggezhuang United Primary School. It has become the wish of every volunteer to let the school have its own library to help students broaden their horizons and learn more knowledge outside books. Through various contacts, we received thousands of donated books suitable for school-age students to read. During this visit, we specially selected hundreds of children's books and a dozen bookshelves nearly one meter high and brought them to Taiping United Primary School, aiming to help the school build its own library, which has also become an important task for us to come to Zunhua this time.
At 9: 00 a.m./kloc-0: 00 a.m., after entering the campus, the first thing to do is to go to the classroom prepared for the library in advance under the leadership of the principal. The library of Taiping United Primary School is selected in a classroom in a row of bungalows just a few steps away from the teacher's office. This location is not only convenient for students to borrow books, but also convenient for teachers to explain book knowledge quickly. When I walked into the classroom, the first thing I saw was that some donated books were stored in the classroom. These books are scattered on the ground, on the table, on the windowsill and so on. The first feeling is chaos. However, there are differences in chaos. Four pictures of "Cherish Time", "Meditation", "Struggle" and "Diligence" are posted on the walls on both sides of the classroom in the form of artistic figures. On the blackboard near the back door of the classroom, the words "walk slowly and gently" are written in artistic characters. And these elaborate decorations remind students of the profound truth that "there is no limit to learning" all the time.
After a brief appreciation of the classroom that will become a library, we soon began to work for the library. Some people move books, some assemble bookshelves, some paste the relevant regulations of the library, some pile books on the bookshelves, some set flowers, some set tables, some hang library signs, and some record beautiful moments with videos. An hour later, the originally chaotic library was revitalized. A brand-new love library stands before the world. In the brief unveiling ceremony of Love Library, the principal expressed sincere thanks to us and many love volunteer service organizations. Although the library is small, it is full of love and hope. What we hope most is that a small library can become a beacon and street lamp for the impoverished students in Qian Qian to realize their dreams and hopes. Helping students is actually helping hope.
With the end of the unveiling ceremony of Jane Eyre Library, Zunhua's love visit also came to an end, and we went to Yutian's love visit. Although I didn't see the poor children I saw when I first went to Zunhua on 20 18, the completion of a small library also showed me the children's thirst for knowledge and hope for the future in poor areas. Through a two-hour conversation with the teacher of Taiping United Primary School, I was deeply impressed by the following points.
First of all, Taiping United Primary School is mainly for children in five nearby villages. Now there are about 200 students, some of whom are kindergarten children. 1 There are about 100 normal students in grades 4, and there are about twenty or thirty students in each class. The teacher told me that the enrollment is much stronger now than before, and everyone wants their children's desire to study and study is increasing day by day. In short, we can see that both adults and children in the local area have a strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
Secondly, compared with the number of students, teachers obviously show some shortcomings. The teacher told me that because of the shortage of teachers, they often have multiple roles and teach multiple grades or even multiple courses by one person. For example, a teacher told me that she teaches Chinese and mathematics in this school, and this teaching method is the normal state of this school. Each of them spoke naturally, but I was very surprised. It is hard to imagine how teachers prepare lessons together for different courses, and sincerely admire the hard work of teachers for this school and for the students.
Thirdly, I have been to many township hope primary schools similar to Taiping United Primary School, but most of the teachers there are teaching teachers, supplemented by local teachers. When I talked to the teachers in Liaison Primary School, they told me that all the teachers here came from the villages and towns near the tunnel. After studying, they returned to their hometown and contributed their meager strength to the education in their hometown. They told me that some teaching teachers came here because teaching teachers are short-term behaviors, which have many unfavorable factors for students' long-term education. So there are relatively few teaching teachers now, but it is a great challenge to the energy of local teachers.
Zunhua city Xindianzi Town Taiping United Primary School's love library donation activity ended, and our group of 24 people set foot on the journey again. After more than an hour, we arrived in yutian county smoothly. At lunch time, after a short lunch break, we began to dock with local volunteers. Then, according to the visiting list, we divided 24 people into 9 groups, led by local volunteers, and the yutian county Love Visit officially kicked off.
I was assigned to the first group. There are three members in the group, and the division of labor is to ask for records, take photos and observe. Under the leadership of local volunteers, we officially started the tour, with a total of six children. In order to protect the privacy of poor children, I will omit all the children's names when I introduce the details of the visit below.
First, it's hard to imagine that a child in grade three is 176cm tall and weighs only 100 kg. The first feeling is that the child is malnourished. The child's father originally handed down the skill of repairing cars from his ancestors, but the ankylosing spondylitis he suffered more than 20 years ago caused the child's father to walk with crutches and could not engage in any work. In order to treat his father, the originally wealthy family owed tens of thousands of debts. The family income only depends on the mother's short-term job to make a living, making ends meet and the income is unstable. The child has a sister, who is currently a junior, earning living expenses by part-time jobs and scholarships, and occasionally subsidizing the family. The child is a senior three this year and will take the senior high school entrance examination next year. He has excellent academic performance and clear goals. He must be admitted to Yutian No.1 Middle School, the best local high school.
It is hard to imagine that two such excellent children can be raised in such a family with high debts and poverty and illness. When I asked my child what his "wishes" were, he hesitated and told me that he wanted a set of exercise books for English and physics for the senior high school entrance examination. There is only one reason. He has to be admitted to Yutian No.1 Middle School in the senior high school entrance examination, and these two courses are only his weak links.
Half an hour's conversation with my children gave me the greatest feeling that the children did not give up because of their poor family. On the contrary, he is sunny, optimistic and cheerful, and has a strong thirst for knowledge. "Life is in me, not in the sky", and he has been trying to change his situation. Presumably this is also the spiritual wealth he inherited from his parents.
Second, the second grade of primary school, naughty, playful, shy and many other labels, * * * constitute the same characteristics of children of the same age in different times. So is this child. When we walked into his house, we were playing carefree with our two little friends, covered in mud and sweating all over our faces. The father of the child told us that his father had uremia for many years and was unable to work. He needs to go to the hospital for dialysis three times a week. The child's mother got encephalitis when she was a child, and now she can't do heavy manual work. The family's monthly income only depends on the couple's subsistence allowance, making ends meet. There are only a few plots of land at home, and a lot of farm work can only be planted by children's elderly grandfathers. Limited land makes the production of agricultural products can only be used as their own food.
Young children may find it difficult to understand family situations. When I asked him about my wishes, he was too young to know what wishes and dreams were. After thinking for a long time, he couldn't say it. Finally, his father asked us to prepare a set of exercise books for his second and third grades. Even if the family is poor, I hope that children can use knowledge to achieve phoenix nirvana. It is also from his father's mouth that we know that naughty, playful and shy children also have a sensible and filial side. It is conceivable that the next time I see this child, I may have been a little less naughty and playful, actively helping my family, and maintaining a curiosity and thirst for knowledge about everything.
The third girl, a senior three girl who has just been admitted to Yutian No.1 Middle School, has excellent academic performance and slim figure. Originally, it was a happy family, but when the child was about to be born, his father died unfortunately. Only one month after her birth, her mother put her at her grandparents' house and remarried herself. So far, the child has nothing to do with his mother. For more than ten years, the heavy responsibility of raising children has been given to elderly grandparents alone. With the growth of children, grandparents' physical condition is getting worse and worse, and elderly diseases such as hypertension and heart disease accompany grandparents. The only source of income for my family depends on my grandfather in his sixties going out to work as a construction worker, but it is extremely unstable, with a maximum of 3000 yuan per month.
As the best high school in yutian county, Yutian No.1 Middle School was admitted with an excellent score of 20 points higher than the admission score of Yutian No.1 Middle School in the senior high school entrance examination. She was shocked when I asked her about her wishes. I hesitated for a long time. At first, I wanted to buy a cotton-padded jacket for my grandmother. Then we brought new cotton-padded jackets. Let the children choose again. I thought I would choose a wish for myself, but I didn't expect the last wish to prepare a cotton-padded jacket for my elderly grandfather. Height 170cm, weight 120 kg, it is hard to imagine such a thin grandfather, but he bears the burden of his family.
Children are not only academically gifted, but more importantly, they know how to be grateful and know how to repay. Although my ability is limited, I know the hardships at home, the efforts of my grandparents, and I feel sorry for everyone who has helped her with their meager strength. As we all know, the annual college entrance examination in Hebei province is characterized by more people, less admission and higher scores. She was admitted to Yutian No.1 Middle School, and she knew all this. Although she didn't tell us what major she wanted to study in the future and what industry she wanted to engage in, she told us that she must be admitted to a famous university. Bless her, I believe that those who know how to be grateful will get more help.
Fourth, the little boy in the fifth grade of primary school, perhaps because of his family situation, is a little more stable and reserved than the naughty, playful and shy children of his age. Originally a happy family, there was a brother at home who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was young. From then on, he began to borrow money to see a doctor. Although I am an adult now, I can't work, and I can only live on the minimum living allowance of about RMB 1000 per month. In order to raise money for treating leukemia, his father worked day and night. Unfortunately, it happened. My father died of illness a few years ago, and now there are tens of thousands of foreign debts left at home. The mother was 40 years old when she gave birth to the child, and she was an elderly woman. The original beautiful idea can't work because of postpartum varicose veins. At present, the monthly income of the whole family only depends on subsistence allowances. There is also a grandmother who is nearly seventy years old and lives with them. However, high blood pressure, heart disease and other senile diseases plagued her.
In other words, children are the only healthy people in the family. Therefore, excellent academic performance, filial piety and gratitude have become the special labels of his youth. When asked about his wish, the child thought for a long time and told me that he wanted a basketball. The reason is just to make myself stronger. When he was young, he would think that a strong body could protect his family and his elders.
The fifth, a junior high school student, has a cheerful face and chubby figure, which gives people a strong affinity. During the conversation, I learned that the child had aplastic anemia when he was young. In order to treat children, he often goes back and forth to Beijing Children's Hospital, spends all his savings at home and borrows money to live. Fortunately, now that the child's condition is under control, Beijing Children's Hospital can check it once a year. As a resident student, he will receive a subsidy from the school about 600 yuan once every six months.
In order to treat children, his father works odd jobs all the year round, about 3 thousand a month, which is the only income of their family every month. Both his mother and his grandmother can't do any work because of their physical condition. Although there is farmland at home, the amount is small, and the annual income of agricultural products is three or four thousand yuan. Asked about my wishes, he told me that he usually likes to read some books related to science fiction or science stories, hoping to have some such books.
Love reading, full of affinity, a full face of happiness, happy appearance, next year's senior high school entrance examination, his goal is only Yutian No.1 Middle School, I believe his future can be expected. Out of his house, it was not beautiful, and suddenly it began to rain. As a result, he took an umbrella and accompanied us to the village to thank us.
Sixth, a freshman who has just been admitted to a university in Shijiazhuang. Parents/Kloc-0 divorced in 967, father suffered from uremia, and went to the hospital for dialysis once every two days on average, and grandpa was paralyzed. When I walked into her house, only my grandparents were at home, but they didn't know her information at all, so they didn't want to show it here.
At eight o'clock in the evening, after a day's visit, we returned to the hotel with a tired body and mind. As the saying goes, "all happy families are the same, but each unhappy family is different." Although I didn't see the children I met when I first went to Zunhua, Yutian on October 8, 20, I looked at the basic family situation of each child in the inquiry record before dinner, and I was deeply moved and heartbroken.
I often say that the visit is not a simple investigation and inquiry, but to help save these children. Strictly speaking, it is these lovely children's persistent pursuit of life beliefs and gratitude to the country, society and family that have infected and attracted us with a brand-new spiritual wealth, constantly inspiring us to pursue, explore and be grateful, constantly facing ourselves, constantly establishing correct beliefs and constantly looking for new goals.
Love is beautiful and pure. Constant infection, inheritance and gratitude, a single spark like love will surely thrive and form a prairie fire.
