Zhou Dawu and his family, Zhou Dawu's famous Xiang army.
Jinjiang, one of the four major rivers in Ningxiang, flows through Daolin 25 Li, then passes through Xiangtan, enters Wangcheng and finally flows into Xiangjiang River. When Jinjiang flows through Daolin, it enters Xiangtan in Shaotanghe Village, Daolin Town, so it is said that there are two counties separated by a river. Connecting the two places is a stone bridge about 80 meters long and 7 meters wide, all made of granite. The bridge deck is wide, straight and magnificent, and it is still as strong as ever after a hundred years. This is the most intact stone bridge in our county. Standing on the bridge deck, watching birds singing in the morning, fish paddling in the water, watching sunset Xia Hong at night, egrets dancing, water and sky are all the same, which makes people fascinated.

The initiator of this stone bridge is Zhou Dawu, a celebrity in our county. Zhou Dawu's real name is Zhu, the word Dream Bear, and his real name. He is a descendant of Zhu Jianjun, the royal king of the Ming Dynasty. According to legend, after Ming Taizu's death, in order to avoid the pursuit of the Qing court, the descendants of Ji Wang changed their surname to Zhou, lived in seclusion in Daolin, Ningxiang, and dug coal for a living in Qingxi Coal Mine under Shuangshiling (later Shuangshiling Coal Mine). Later, they were known by Governor Luo of Hunan Province, worked for Zuo, the famous minister of ZTE, and made meritorious military service repeatedly, becoming the commander-in-chief of Xiang Army and the magistrate of Sichuan.

When Zhou Dawu was a child, his family was poor and he never went to school. After he developed, he paid attention to teaching and promoted learning. From the third year to the twentieth year of Guangxu (1877- 1894), during his tenure as governor of Gansu, Zhang Ye vigorously advocated education, donated money to run schools, and was rewarded and neglected. In a garden (the garden of Gansu Governor's Office in Qing Dynasty, later renamed Gan Yuan, now Ganquan Park), Dongxing Jian Peijun ([lù]) got (~ got, the county name of China in Han Dynasty, in the northwest of Zhangye City, Gansu Province today. Cultivating talents in the college has made special contributions to the cultural and educational undertakings in this area. Today, Zhangye No.4 Middle School, developed on the basis of Yaode Academy, has become a prestigious northwest school in Longyuan. He also asked people to choose a place and build Wenfeng Pagoda outside Changsha Gate in the east of the city to improve their cultural background. After the completion of the Academy, Zhou Dawu invited celebrities to write couplets. Although these couplets were written by others, they expressed Zhou's mental journey and ambition.

The old order of Yixia Courtyard made up for the sight of the balcony near Shuicaomu Hanfang, which has been gradually polished and failed to pursue the vain years.

"Spring Blooms in Ordos" and the Rise of Wenhai Poetry: From then on, people are not far from each other, and talented people come forth in large numbers.

Although he was born in the military, Zhou Dawu loved dealing with literati and left many affairs. According to the records in Huayang County Records of the Republic of China, when he was the magistrate of Sichuan, he spent thousands of dollars to buy the address of "Zhao Yun Xi Ma Chi" and "still served Shunping with a niche by the pool". Scholars and celebrities often gather here to enjoy boating. Outside the army, Zhou Dawu loved dancing and writing, and was good at writing the word "tiger", which became a rare Mo Bao and was widely circulated. Zhou Dawu's poem "Climbing Jiayuguan Pass" is particularly commendable: "The frontier defense has been built since ancient times, and the sundae is lying idle today. The whales roar in the vast sea and the swords and halberds ring in the cold moon." This poem was written by Zhou Dawu when he boarded Jiayuguan after he became the magistrate of Shaanxi in 1886. It is a part of the inscription in the Preface to Climbing Jiayuguan. The poem is desolate and unforgettable, expressing the author's mood when he boarded the majestic Jiayuguan Pass. This is the inscription of Huang Ziyuan, the magistrate of Taiyuan. And the left couplet—

Smell the incense, depending on Li and Gong Wei sect, met separately. He is so famous throughout the ages that he asked what ZTE was and decided to go to East China.

Loyalty and courage were born, and they traveled all over the south to discover things. After sweeping away the group of fierce people, they restored unity, ebbed and flowed, and sad voices returned to the sea to strengthen our emperor's pivot.

The elegiac couplet comprehensively summarizes the brilliant and tragic life of Zuo, a famous minister of ZTE in the late Qing Dynasty. From these two posthumous works, we can also see that Zhou Dawu's cultural background is very unusual.

After Zhou Dawu made his fortune, he also set up fields and manors in his hometown. His castle manor is located in Shijiawan (formerly Datunying township government office), which was very large at that time, and was known as "three rows and one hundred rooms on the ninth floor". At the same time, he also bought the deciduous garden in Tai 'anli, north of Changsha (now Changsha Zhou Nan Middle School).

Zhou Dawu married Yao in 1883 and gave birth to Zhou Jiachun, a famous educator and founder of Ningxiang No.1 Middle School. At the age of Zhou Jiachun 1 1, Zhou Dawu was promoted to the governor of Xinjiang for his participation in the recovery of Xinjiang. He died of a serious illness before he took office. Buried in Renchong, Shanshanling, Daolin Town, Ningxiang, leaving a cemetery. After liberation, he visited the Lins' home for his grandfather's grave many times, and now he is a cultural relic protection unit in Changsha.

Zhou Dawu's descendants are talented and famous at home and abroad. In particular, his son Zhou Jiachun, influenced by new ideas and new education, is far-sighted and attaches importance to education, and has a good reputation for ruining his family and promoting his studies. 1908, Zhou Jiachun founded Nan Zhou Girls' School in Tai 'anli, northern Changsha. 19 12 established Yutan Middle School (now Ningxiang No.1 Middle School) in Ningxiang, becoming a famous educator.

Zhou Jiachun gave birth to eight children, six of whom embarked on the revolutionary road and became * * * producers. Among them, the second daughter Zhu Zhongzhi (formerly known as Zhu Muci), the second son-in-law Xiao, the whole daughter and the whole son-in-law Wang Jiaxiang are the most famous. Xiao is a general of the People's Liberation Army of China, and was once a naval commander and vice chairman of the National People's Congress. Wang Jiaxiang was a famous Red Army leader and later became a diplomat. He was the first ambassador of New China to the Soviet Union. Zhu Zhongli, a woman, is a health care doctor in Mao Zedong. She has written books such as The Prince and Grandson. For this reason, Mao Zedong also asked about the origin of the Zhu Zhongli family. Liu Shaoqi's wife Wang (from huaminglou), Hu Yaobang's wife Li Zhao (from Fengmuqiao) and Xie Juezai's wife (from Shatian) are called "Ningxiang Four Old Men" by the county people. Among Zhou Jiachun's students, there are also outstanding girls, such as Xiang Jingyu, Cai Chang and Yang Kaihui.

The crown of Wuchang artillery fell and the Republic of China was born. Zhou Jiachun presented his genealogy and requested the Hunan Provincial Governor's Office to approve the compound surname, and changed his name to Zhu. Fan Jian was engaged in family education and founded Zhou Nan Middle School-Changsha Ningxiang No.1 Middle School. His wife Wei Xiang was the daughter of Wei Guangtao, a famous doctor in Qing Dynasty.
