Citizen Square is an important part of the landscape environment project of Shenzhen central square and south central axis, which was officially started in April 2005. With the theme of "the new combination of city and nature", the square will not only be used for leisure and entertainment, but also use a large number of green spaces to beautify the environment, which will play an important role in alleviating the urban heat island effect.
Shenzhen Civic Center is located on the east and west sides of the Civic Square, covering a large area of green space. Tall trees form the greening form of Jyukai on the sloping land according to the image of "green clouds". Liu Jie, a senior engineer of the Municipal Construction and Works Department, told the reporter that there are more than 300 kinds of green trees in the Civic Square, and the turf planting area is about 654.38+10,000 square meters. Because the trees are transplanted, the crown is not high after pruning. In another three to five years, all the crowns will be stretched out to create a more comfortable "city living room" for the citizens.
Walking in the public square, the scenery you see is constantly changing. Between the green space and the central axis of the square, there are two large-scale ecological water-collecting depressions, in which plants such as lotus flowers grow. According to reports, these two waterlogged depressions can not only collect rainwater from squares and green spaces, but also plant various aquatic plants for the public to watch. The central axis facing the civic center is the central square of the civic square. There are three glittering and translucent lighthouses erected on the east and west sides of the square, which are 25 meters high and can illuminate at night. Solar display lights and solar starlight lights are installed on the floor tiles and steps of the central axis of the square. This device can absorb solar energy during the day and emit light naturally at night without electricity. The lighting brightness of the whole square will be controlled according to three modes: weekdays, holidays and major festivals. The usual lighting is divided into two periods: all night and midnight. In order to use energy more effectively, the square adopts efficient lighting sources and efficient energy-saving lamps. At the same time, in order to provide convenience for the public, there are also four observation decks and four bathrooms in the square.
On the south side of Civic Square, two underground tunnels crossing Shennan Avenue have entered the reconstruction stage and are expected to be completed by the end of 10. By then, citizens can enter the square on the south side of Citizen Square through these two underground passages.
