Henry founded the first sailing school in the world-St. Chris School.

At present, Sagres, the southernmost tip of Portugal, is located in a small fishing village on a cliff, and it is still desolate. According to the Portuguese Chronicle, in the 5th century, under the auspices of Prince Enrique, the first national maritime school in human history was established here, and there were observatories and libraries built for navigation. This lighthouse, built in15th century, still stands proudly after nearly 600 years of wind, frost, rain and snow.

For the Portuguese, Sagrish is the end of the world, that is, the "ends of the earth". A closer examination shows that the headland is an inspiring choice. Every year from winter to spring, the prevailing northwest wind absorbs a lot of water vapor from the Atlantic Ocean and pours it into the Monchik Mountains. Apart from the hot and dry summer (farther south than most parts of Spain), this area is characterized by subtropics.

If you ride a horse, you can reach the foot of the lush green forest in one day, which is full of cork, oak, white almond, oleander, hibiscus, lily and geranium. Citrus trees and lemon trees in dark pine forests are full of fruits. Cabbage is planted under date palms, and heather shrubs are grapes planted on scaffolding. The edge of the continental shelf is only a few miles from Sagrish, and further here is the steep seabed leading to the 3000-meter deep sea.

There are many fish in this sea area, and there are hundreds of kinds of fish near Saint Vincent. Small fleets catch large quantities of cod, fish and sardines for drying or curing. The cliff is a barrier for fishermen, and the small harbor can safely resist seasonal northern storms here. Due to its proximity to Lagos, this fishing port is favored by many tourists. It is also the center of shipbuilding and lobster production. There are several beautiful beaches and barren Cape Saint Vicente nearby.
