How to do a good job of reader service in public libraries.
To accomplish this arduous task, we must do a good job in reader service. Readers are the only service object of the library. As a public library, compared with other professional libraries, factories, mines, enterprises and institutions and university libraries, it has the characteristics of wide scope, complex levels, large quantity and uneven level. How to do a good job in reader service is a difficult problem faced by public libraries at present. Librarians have to deal with many readers every day, and "all for readers" is the purpose of library work. Service for readers is the core of library work and the starting point and destination of all library work. It directly reflects the nature, functions, policies and tasks of the library, reflects the social benefits of the library and promotes the development of various social undertakings. This shows the importance of library service for readers. In the past, the library gave people the impression that it was only a single collection unit, and the way readers worked was a passive and closed way of waiting for readers. With the steady development of social economy, any enterprise or institution has to turn to the library information system, use various information carriers, consult technical materials, collect relevant reference data and make correct decisions in order to improve management quality and economic benefits. This old and closed system can't meet the needs of readers.
