The comprehensive database of China medical literature developed by Institute of Medical Information, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences on 1994 contains more than 600 kinds of China biomedical journals/kloc-0 since 1978, as well as literature records of compiled and discussed papers, with a total of more than 4 million records, with an annual increase of more than 350,000.

Cbmdisc retrieval function:

(1) Indexing and classification: All titles of CBMdisc are subject-indexed according to the MeSH Chinese version published by the National Library of Medical Sciences and the Thesaurus of Traditional Chinese Medicine published by the Institute of Library and Information Science of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and classified according to the China Library Classification and the Medical Professional Classification Table.

(2) Pre-indexed data: In order to speed up the update cycle of data, CBMdisc uses pre-indexed data to automatically index and classify the latest data by computer, and can retrieve subject words and classification numbers like manual indexing data. The subject words and classification numbers of pre-indexed data are hidden in the record and will not be displayed, and will be updated after further manual indexing.

(3) Auxiliary retrieval function of thesaurus: The retrieval system has auxiliary retrieval functions of various thesaurus, such as subject words, rotation table of Chinese and English subject words, classification number, periodical number, index thesaurus, author list, etc. , and has rich annotation information.

(4) Search portals: In addition to more than 30 search portals, it also provides search methods such as featured keyword search, classified search, first author search, literature search, fund projects, discipline-related documents and references. In particular, the retrieval function of subject words and sub-subject words will effectively improve the precision and recall.

(5) The retrieval functions are complete: fixed subject retrieval, limited retrieval, extended retrieval of subject words \ classification number, link retrieval, cut-off retrieval and wildcard retrieval, and various logical combination retrieval functions maximize the retrieval efficiency; The functions of sorting, displaying, copying and printing retrieval results bring great convenience to users.

(6) Full-text collection: The Institute of Medical Information of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences cooperated with VIP Company, and used the digital object identifier technology and XML technology of China periodical literature to link and collect the title data of CBMdisc with the VIP full-text database, so as to realize the manual full-text service of the data before 1989.
