To become a qualified engineering cost engineer, we must first know what the cost engineer needs to master, mainly including the following points:

1, general construction technology, construction methods and engineering quality and safety standards;

2, familiar with the basic knowledge of architectural drawings, building structure and building structure, understand the commonly used building materials, components, products and commonly used mechanical equipment;

3. Be familiar with the composition of quota, labor cost, material budget price, mechanical shift fee and charging standard;

4, familiar with the rules of engineering quantity calculation, master the calculation skills;

5, understand the laws and regulations of construction economy, familiar with the terms of the project contract, can participate in bidding, bidding and contract negotiation;

For items 1 and 2, beginners can improve it by reading Architectural Engineering Drawing and Cartography, Introduction to Civil Engineering, Mechanics of Materials, Structural Mechanics, Architectural Engineering Technology and Measurement (this book is a compulsory course for cost engineers) and some flat steel atlas.

For items 3 and 4, beginners can improve by reading books such as Engineering Economics, Basic Quota of Construction Engineering, Code for Valuation of Bill of Quantities, and Rules for Calculation of Engineering Quantity (cost management and valuation of construction engineering are compulsory subjects for cost engineers).

For the fifth article, beginners can improve it through "Project Bidding and Contract Management" and "Project Bidding Law".
