The library of Henan Normal University covers science, engineering, education, philosophy, economics, law, literature, history, management and other disciplines. Famous large-scale series such as Wen Yuan Gus Ku Quanshu, Xusi Ku Quanshu, Siku Quanshu Catalogue Series, Siming Series, Republic of China Series and China Re-created Rare Books are all collected. The industry has formed a collection system with professional literature as the mainstay, relatively complete subject literature categories and rich large-scale book collections. The library of Henan Normal University has formed certain characteristics in the arrangement of ancient books, especially in the collection construction: First, the four collections are comprehensive. Including Si Quan Shu, Continued Si Quan Shu, Si Quan Shu Cun Shu Series and its supplement, Si Ban Shu Series and Si Lun Shu Collection, as well as Si Shu Series and its supplement and Si Bu Yao edited according to the classification standard of Si Shu. These series complement each other, forming a large stack of basic ancient books in China. Followed by Confucian, Taoist and Buddhist documents, historical archives of Ming and Qing dynasties, local chronicles and other ordinary ancient books. Including Yi, Shu, Poetry, Rites, Spring and Autumn, Filial Piety, Four Books, Music, Primary School and other annotated Confucian documents; Religious classics such as Taoist scriptures, Han and Tibetan (Chinese part); Records of the Ming Dynasty, Records of the Qing Dynasty, manuscripts and memorials of some courtiers in the Qing Dynasty, documents approved by Emperor Kangxi Zhu and other archival historical materials; Selected Periodicals of Ming Dynasty Collected in Tianyi Pavilion and other ancient local chronicles. Third, there are a large number of series and books in the library. The series of ancient books includes Wan Wei Bie Zang, Collection of Books First Edition, Hanyu Fang Shan Yishu, Teachers College Series and Siming Series. Ancient books mainly include Yuan Gui, Yongle Dadian and other famous works in the Northern Song Dynasty, the largest book in history, the largest book in existence and the latest book in the collection.
Although there are many ordinary ancient books in the library of Henan Normal University, there are few precious ancient books such as Zhao Gongzhai's Collected Works, Zhu Nianpu and Textual Research on Mao Poetry. These books are exquisitely carved and well preserved, which have high cultural relics value and academic research value. However, due to limited knowledge, some ancient books need further textual research and identification.
In terms of digital resources in the library of Henan Normal University, Chinese and foreign databases such as China periodical full-text database, China excellent doctoral and master's thesis full-text database, Elsevier full-text electronic journal and Springer LINK full-text electronic journal have been opened one after another, and nearly 500,000 e-books have been purchased. A document information resource guarantee system combining paper documents with electronic documents, physical collections with virtual collections is constructed.
