Nanjing Forestry University, referred to as "Lin Nan", is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is a provincial key university approved by the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, and approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is a Class A construction university in the high-level university construction peak plan of Jiangsu Province and the first batch of world-class discipline construction universities in China. It has been selected into the first batch of "Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan", National Key Discipline Construction University Project, National High-level University Construction Postgraduate Project, National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Plan, Jiangsu Province's "201Collaborative Innovation Center" and Jiangsu Province's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan".
The school was formerly the Forestry Department of Central University (founded in 1902) and the Forestry Department of Jinling University (founded in 19 10), and Nanjing Forestry College was merged in 1952, which was one of the only three forestry colleges in China at that time. Department of Forestry, Huazhong Agricultural College 1955 merged, 1972 was renamed Nanjing Forestry Institute, 1983 was renamed Nanjing Forestry College, and 1985 was renamed Nanjing Forestry University.
