Beijing Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is a university built by the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform", and it is also the first batch of doctoral and master's degrees awarded universities with graduate schools in China. The "20 1 1 Plan" and "Rail Transit Safety Collaborative Innovation Center" led by our school are among the first batch of 14 certified collaborative innovation centers in China. Beijing Campus is located in Haidian District, adjacent to Zhongguancun, the "Silicon Valley" in China. From 2065438 to September 2005, Weihai Campus was officially put into use. As one of the three sources of Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University can be traced back to Beijing Institute of Railway Management, which was founded in 1909. It is the first institution of higher learning in China that specializes in training management talents, and it is the birthplace of modern railway management and telecommunications education in China.
Weihai provided 1 1 12 mu (74. 1 hectare) of land for this project. The first phase of campus construction was completed at the end of August, 20 14, with a total construction area of106,000 square meters, including a comprehensive building, a teaching building, a library, an academic exchange center and a dormitory building. The second phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in September, 20 17, with a total construction area of120,000 square meters, including the experimental building, student activity center, gymnasium, school history museum, national modern traffic engineering capacity training center, national rail transit museum, teachers' apartment, etc. The campus reserves 300 mu of development land for scientific and technological achievements incubation, technology research and development, and key laboratory construction.
