Chinese plum
Plum planting in Chaoshan has a long history, which began in the Jin Dynasty (936-946) after the Five Dynasties, and has been around for more than 1000 years. Plum blossoms in the mountains are known as "wide, ancient and strange". China is famous for its five plums, namely, Chumei, Jinmei, Liang Meiwei, Tangmei and Song Mei. There are two super mountains, Tangmei and Song Mei. There are tens of thousands of plum varieties, including Gulihong, Pindie, Hongmei, Bai Mei, Green Sepal Plum, Cinnabar Plum and Apricot Plum. Plum blossoms are old and dry, with thin and oblique shadows, red, white and green, and all the flowers are in full bloom, just like the starry sky on a summer night. As the predecessors said, "white flowers spread jade, and the sky is white ten miles away, like flying snow and smallpox." Known as "Ten Miles of Plum Blossom Fragrant Snow Sea".
The foyer of the Jin, Ming and Tang Dynasties was a quadrangle. Dozens of Bai Mei and red berries were planted on both sides of the stone road. There is a stone altar along the end of the stone road, and there is a Lao Lizi tree in it. The word "Tang Mei" was carved on the wall of the stone altar below. I wonder if Tang Mei is the work of the Tang Dynasty. It is said that it was named in memory of Tang Jue, an upright scholar in the Song Dynasty. On both sides of Tang Mei, there are stone steps on the platform behind. There is a golden laurel and a silver laurel on the platform, and the rest are plum blossoms. Behind the tree is a two-story wooden building-"Xiangting", vermilion pillars and flower windows.
Tang Mei
A stone pavilion with upturned horns and cornices. There is a stone table in the pavilion, surrounded by stone benches, and the word "Song" inscribed by the famous calligrapher Yu is on the plaque. Seven couplets are engraved on the stone pillars around the pavilion. According to legend, in mid-spring of 1923, the painter was invited by Yao from Tingzhou to travel with Wang Shoushan, a scholar from Qi Tang. In front of Xianghai Building (now Daming Hall) in Baoci Temple, dozens of old plums with moss and fish scales are planted around it, which makes me very strange. So my friends and I agreed to build a small pavilion next to the Songmei tree. He also wrote to Wu Changshuo and invited him to be a butcher. Meiting was built at the end of this year.
Songmeiting
On the right of Chaoshan Peak is Shangsi Temple, in front of which is Wang Xintian Temple. Passing through the King's Temple is a clearing, walking along the stone road in the middle, in front of which is a platform paved with stone slabs. Climbing the steps and facing the stone wall, Zhang Zongxiang, a famous contemporary calligrapher, the third president of Xiling Printing Society and the director of Zhejiang Library, wrote "Chao Feng". On the top of the mountain is the Xuanwu Hall, also known as the Pure First Hospital, commonly known as the Upper Hall, which is dedicated to the holy emperor Xuanwu. On the left of the main hall is the lecture hall, and on the right is the prison hall.
Chaofeng
In the temple on the super mountain, there are rugged paths on both sides, which can go around the back of the temple. There is the Eight Immortals Pavilion on the ridge behind the temple, which is the highest point of the mountain. There was a poem by predecessors: "The wings of the pavilion are slightly higher, and the pine tips are always covered by clouds." When the mountains are empty, the gods come and become the leading enterprises through the ages. "When you board the Eight Immortals Pavilion, you will see a panoramic view of Fiona Fang dozens of miles away. The canal in the distance is like a belt, and tens of thousands of people living in the pond are hidden in the hazy smoke. In the middle is the water town wetland, "Top Mountain Lake Poplar". There are fields, wells, rivers and harbors nearby, and there are hundreds of ponds of different sizes, like a mirror with thousands of faces.
Baxian pavilion
