1, Momotaro
An old couple who had no children for a long time found a peach flowing down the river one day. They cut the peach and saw a strong male doll in it, so they adopted him. The thriving Momotaro heard that there were evil spirits living on the ghost island and decided to eradicate them.
So he set off with the broadsword and millet jiaozi given to him by his grandparents. On the way, I met a puppy, a monkey and a pheasant. Qi Xin defeated the evil spirits together and brought many treasures plundered by the evil spirits back to the village. Finally, Momotaro and his grandparents lived happily all their lives.
2. Taro Kishima
A kind-hearted young man living in a seaside village saved a turtle bullied by a child. In return, the tortoise invited him to visit the Dragon Palace, so he sat on the tortoise's back and got into the sea. The goddess in the Dragon Palace came to meet Taro and gave him a warm reception. Although Taro Urashima was very happy here, he decided to resign when he thought of his mother who was still waiting for him to go home. Before he left, the goddess gave him a jade box and repeatedly warned him not to open it.
Back on land, Taro found his mother missing. I didn't know it had been 100 years until I asked the villagers. Taro realized that the Dragon Palace had been on the ground for many years. Disappointed, Taro set out to travel abroad. On the way, he thought of the beauty and reality of the Dragon Palace. Ignoring the warning, he opened the box in his hand and saw a smoke coming out of it. Taro became a white-haired old man.
The Evolution of Momotaro in Edition History
Today's stories in Momotaro are all about Momotaro, because an old woman found a big peach floating by the river while washing clothes. After the incision, she found a baby inside. But it's not really Momotaro's original.
The original version of Momotaro is described as follows: When the old woman was washing clothes by the river, she found a big peach floating in. After returning home, the old woman cut open and ate half of it, and immediately turned back into a girl. Grandpa was quite surprised when he got home, so he also ate the other half of the peach and recovered his youthful strength. That night, the two began to have intense sex, so they got pregnant and gave birth to a boy. The couple named the boy Momotaro.
The reason for this change is that in the 20th year of Meiji, the Japanese government intended to incorporate Momotaro into the official Chinese textbook for primary schools. However, because the sex story is not suitable for primary school students who have never been exposed to sex education, Momotaro's birth was revised. Many people have forgotten the original story of Momotaro.
