The school was built in 1986. In the first two years of its establishment, there was no fixed school site. Teachers and students borrowed the surplus school buildings from neighboring primary schools as classrooms, and moved to the current school site in September 1988 for normal education and teaching activities. For a long time after the school was founded, the school was in intermittent construction, and it was not until 2000 that the basic construction of the school tended to be perfect.

At the beginning of the school, the name used was qionghai city Jiaji Town No.1 Middle School. Soon, it was renamed qionghai city No.3 Middle School, and 1996 was renamed qionghai city Jiaji No.3 Middle School again, so the school name of qionghai city Jiaji No.3 Middle School has been used to this day.

The school covers an area of 40 mu, and the landform is an east-west rectangle.
