At present, libraries, especially campus libraries, have carried out comprehensive network wiring for all buildings. Gigabit optical fiber connects two campuses, and 100 megabytes are exchanged to the desktop, realizing cross-campus knowledge, * * * construction, and * * * sharing some resources.

At present, all kinds of literature management and modern reader service in the library are mainly carried out with the help of a cluster, 15 servers, a 30T disk array and 560 microcomputers.

Tsinghua University TPI management system is the platform for digital library construction. Literature acquisition and cataloging data mainly come from MARC data provided by booksellers and online cataloging data of CALIS Center.

The library has an electronic reading room in each campus. The utilization rate of new machines in the electronic reading room is 100%, and the utilization rate of old machines is also above 60%.

Libraries actively carry out digital services and build digital resources by using modern means and facilities. At present, 20 large-scale databases have been purchased and more than 6 self-built databases have been built.

In order to strengthen the communication between libraries and readers, increase the promotion of digital resources and services of libraries, and promote teachers and students to adapt to the transformation of modern information service mode of libraries. Since 2006, "Digital Service Publicity Week" has been successfully held for two consecutive years. The activities were carried out through lectures, database demonstrations, on-site consultation and readers' questionnaires. The expected good results have been achieved.

The goal of digital library construction is to realize the fundamental transformation from traditional library to digital library.
