The area around Sha Tin Station of Guangdong Railway has developed into the center of Sha Tin, as the expansion area of the old market town. It also provides a shopping center and a major public transportation hub for the new town. The Civic Center, which connects the commercial building and Sha Tin Station, is the focus of Sha Tin downtown. The recreation center provides comprehensive facilities, including a library and a city hall. Sha Tin Court is located next to the Civic Center. Shatin Park, located between the Cultural Center and Chengmen River, is a major development project in the city center. Shatian Park is the center of the open space on both sides of Chengmen River. There are shops, offices, cinemas and other commercial and entertainment facilities in the city center.

The center of Ma 'anshan includes a commercial center, surrounded by residential development, and the outer layer is government and community facilities, Ma 'anshan Park and Tolo Harbour waterfront promenade.
