Brief Introduction of Shandong University Library
Shandong University Library was founded in 190 1, and was formed by the merger and reorganization of the former Shandong University Library, Shandong Medical University Library and Shandong Polytechnic University Library in July 2000. It is a comprehensive university library with a long history, rich collections and distinctive features, which has great influence at home and abroad. It is a member library of China Higher Education Document Guarantee System (CALIS), CALIS Shandong Document Information Service Center and CASHL Subject Center. 12 As of 20 13, the total building area of the library is 6,4621.91m2, with 2,823 reading seats and 4,434,296 paper documents in the library, and books 1.8 million copies are returned by borrowing every year./kloc- The library consists of six branches, namely, arts and sciences, politics and law, medicine, engineering, Xinglong Mountain and software park, which are distributed in six campuses in Jinan. The library is the second batch of national key protection units of ancient books and the key protection units of ancient books in Shandong Province. Rare ancient books 10726 kinds, 36578 volumes, among which epigraphy rubbings are particularly rich. Bibliographic literature has a great influence in the whole country, and the Yi-ology literature, thread-bound ancient books and local chronicles in Ming and Qing Dynasties are quite distinctive. In terms of electronic resources, the whole library has 964 computers, three electronic reading rooms 10 and three literature retrieval training rooms, and the electronic resources provide all-weather uninterrupted service. There are 20 1 database, 800,000 Chinese e-books, 770,000 foreign e-books, 9,556 Chinese e-journals, 28,000 foreign e-journals (full text), 3 1.5 million Chinese e-papers and 654,380+0.9 million foreign e-papers. The annual visits are 6.5438+0.72 million person-times, the searches are 2.6 million times, and the total downloads are 6.5438+0 million volumes. The library of Shandong University (Weihai) and the library of Shandong University are relatively independent and use different inquiry systems, so students in the two places cannot borrow books from each other.
