Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University is a branch of Nanjing Agricultural University, a national key university, which is held in Wuxi. It is an important part of the whole teaching institution of Nanjing Agricultural University and one of the only key universities directly under the Ministry of Education in Wuxi. It was founded on March, 2003 1993 by Nanjing Agricultural University and the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences on the basis of long-term cooperation and approved by the former State Education Commission (now the Ministry of People and Education of China).

The school is located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, an excellent tourist city in China with beautiful scenery, bordering Taihu Lake, adjacent to Wuxi Taihu Film and Television Base of CCTV, which is known as "Oriental Hollywood", and Yuanyuanzhu, a national key scenic spot praised by Mr. Zhao Puchu as "the source pearl is better than the sky", with its back to Qingshan and facing Taihu Lake.
