A burning island

This is a book describing the Pacific War of World War II. This book brilliantly describes the US-Japan Pacific War from the naval battle of midway to Japan's surrender. It is informative in strategy, campaign and tactics at all levels. In addition, there are many characters in this book, but it is by no means the so-called "overhead" literature. I once thought that this work was written by an American, because the author had a deep understanding of European and American cultures, and Song Yichang came from China. With his knowledge of the cultures of the two warring countries, he grasped the pulse of soldiers, politicians and nationals on both sides of the Pacific War. This book is a war manual as well as a romance novel.
