Wuhan Institute of Bioengineering is the first bioengineering undergraduate college in China, which was founded and developed under the cordial care of the famous scientist Academician Qian Xuesen, and the only private undergraduate college in Hubei Province with the right to award bachelor's degrees. The school adheres to the tenet of "building a school for the public, running a school for the people, running a school according to law and repaying the society" and the principle of running a school for public welfare. Guided by Yan 'an spirit and Qian Xuesen spirit, with the goal of building a national high-level private university with distinctive characteristics, we will constantly improve the conditions for running schools, improve the quality and level of education and teaching, and promote the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of the school. The school covers an area of 13 12 mu, with a building area of 650,000 square meters. There are more than 7000 students 1300 faculty members, including 278 professors and associate professors. The library has a collection of120,000 volumes, and the total value of experimental instruments and equipment is more than 70 million yuan.

At present, the school has more than 30 teaching and research units, including bioengineering department, biotechnology department, pharmaceutical engineering department, chemistry and environmental engineering department, landscape architecture department, computer and information engineering department, management engineering department, foreign languages department, art department, physical education department, architecture department, electromechanical engineering department, ideological and political theory department and experiment center, analysis and testing center, modern education technology center and continuing education college, and has more than 50 general undergraduate and professional courses.

The school adheres to the tenet of "educating people and putting moral education first", comprehensively promotes quality education and strives to improve students' practical ability. It has successively established internship and employment bases in hundreds of enterprises inside and outside the province, implemented a closer all-round cooperative relationship with enterprises, created a "school-enterprise alliance", continuously improved the level of serving the society, and continuously enhanced the employment competitiveness of graduates, which is known as the "cradle of cultivating high-quality applied talents". The employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for a long time. In order to help students from poor families successfully complete their studies, the school has established a complete system of "awards, loans, diligence, assistance and compensation", and the total amount of various awards and grants exceeds 6.5438+million yuan each year.
